Tottenham are currently 3rd in the table and are on a run of three games without defeat while West Ham are on a run of five games without a win following their opening day victory over Cardiff.

Tottenham’s great form is reflected in short odds against a struggling West Ham side but I do fancy them to win here against a West Ham side struggling for goals and form. To get the price up a bit, Spurs to win to nil is available at 6/4 with Coral. All of Tottenham’s victories this season have seen them keep a clean sheet and West Ham are yet to score on the road this season, making this look an absolute banker.

Despite not having won a game away from home this season, West Ham have conceded just once. With Spurs managing a 1-0 win, 2-0 win and a 1-1 draw so far this season at White Hart Lane. With Spurs hardly battering teams and West Ham struggling for goals without Andy Carroll over 2.5 seems far too high at 11/10 with William Hill.

Tottenham is in fine Premier League form, and played well in midweek’s European football with a second string based team. They should be fit and ready for this tie. Cardiff beat Fulham away last Premier League match day, scoring the winner in the 90th minute. At home Cardiff has been solid holding Everton and beating Man City. Spurs grabbed a one goal victory. Mackay has definitely set up his Cardiff side to play tough to break down football, and at home they have fantastic support. Here Danish starlet Cornelius could finally be fit for action up front again.

Newcastle is very unstable, but there is a lot of potential in this side. They usually find the net, but they also leak goals at the back. In their last two Premier League games they’ve let in three goals. If they want anything out of this game they better shore up their back line. Steven Taylor (Defender) is still out. Jonas Gutierrez (Winger) could be set for game time here after sitting out since mid August.

Cardiff v Newcastle betting tips

I rate Newcastle the better side, and they definitely have more potential in the final third. However at home Cardiff fight like lions, and who can argue with their efforts so far? This looks like a very tight game indeed. I find 3.40 (12/5) for the draw from Bet365 quite useful.
