Everton vs Liverpool Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Everton:
Pickford; Coleman, Keane, Zouma, Digne; Gueye, Schneiderlin; Walcott, Sigurdsson, Richarlison; Calvert-Lewin

Liverpool:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum; Salah, Origi, Mane

This is the city derby, so called "Merseyside derby". For those who don't know, Merseyside is the river that divide the city into two parts - one red, knowing as Liverpool part and, one blue, knowing as Everton part of the city. The match had been referred to as the "Merseyside derby" in at least one national newspaper in 1955. Traditionally, the Merseyside derby was referred to as the "Friendly derby" because of the large number of families who have both Reds (Liverpool) and Blues (Everton) supporters in them. However, the 'Friendly Derby' has seen more Red cards (21) than any other in the Premier League history.

This weekend's match will be the 200th time they have faced off in the top flight, becoming only the second fixture to reach that milestone after Aston Villa versus Everton (202). The reverse fixture played in December ended with a dramatic 1:0 win for Liverpool. Divock Origi scored the winner deeply into the referee time after Pickford made a huge mistake.

Everton are in the middle of the table with 36 points. The fans are not fully satisfied with the situation and they are expecting to see the Toffees fighting for European spots. The actual form isn't at desired level as Everton have three defeats in the last four rounds of the Premier League. They lost 3:1 to Wolverhampton, 2:0 to Manchester City and 1:0 to Watford. However, the bad series ended this week. On Tuesday Everton managed to beat Cardiff City with 3:0. Even more, the victory came away from home. Gylfi Sigurdsson is the most deserved for the victory by scoring a brace. He has scored 15 Premier League goals for Everton since the start of the 2017/18 season, five more than any other player. Sigurdsson is now the Premier League's outright top-scoring Icelandic player with 57 goals, eclipsing Eidur Gudjohnsen's haul of 55. The remaining goal was scored by Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The atmosphere in the squad is much better now. The Toffees were clinical against Cardiff - they scored with their first two shots on target and with three of their four shots on target overall in the match. Manager Marco Silva has most of his players available, only Leighton Baines is sidelined with a rib injury that has ruled him out for a month.

Liverpool are on the second place with 69 points, two less than leaders Manchester City. However, the Reds have a match in hand, this one against Everton. Liverpool could return to the first place with three points from Goodison Park, though I don't believe. Jurgen Klopp's men have a problem when play away from home in the last period. Liverpool failed to win on three of the last four matches on road in the Premier League. The Reds lost at Etihad, shared the points with West Ham and Manchester City, while the lone victory came at Brighton. Even that victory wasn't convincing, but a narrow 1:0 win thanks to Salah's goal from penalty. The overall form is not at desired level too. It is true Liverpool won 5:0 against Watford on Wednesday, but that was just their second victory in five Premier League games. The key player Mohamed Salah is out of form, he failed to score a single goal on the last three matches across all competitions. For this derby Klopp has four injury worries. Dejan Lovren, Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain are still not ready for a return to action, while Roberto Firmino, who missed Wednesday's clash against Watford, is rated as doubtful.

Everton vs Liverpool Prediction:

I expect Everton to stay unbeaten in this derby. The key reason for my pick is connect with Liverpool. The Reds are not playing well in the last period, particularly on road. They failed to win on three of the last four away matches in the Premier League. Salah has just one goal on the last six matches, it's obvious he is struggling. Everton will take advantage from this situation.

Big derby includes the program today at Campionato, as Napoli in the evening celebrates in San Paolo the champion of Juventus. The guests are already a long distance from their current opponent, so nothing goes wrong if something goes wrong against each other. Equally they can have their minds today in the Champions League rematch with Atletico Madrid.

In a "thread" the title case is now in the Premier League, as Manchester City made the overturn and passed Liverpool on the scoreboard. Clop's team has a derby in front of Everton headquarters today, but victory comes back first. Clearly and does not want to leave points in the game
