Saw someone mention betting £5 on a match and it got me thinking - what's considered a "normal" or "standard" bet size in different countries?

I'm in the US and I'd say $50-100 is pretty standard for recreational bettors, while serious bettors are doing $200-500 per play. But I'm curious how this compares to UK etc.

What's normal where you are?

£10-20 is standard here in Wales.

Maybe £50 if it's a big match.

£100 feels like a massive bet for most people I know.

€50 typical stake in Germany for experienced bettors.

€20 for casual weekend betting.

€100 considered large stake by most.

i do anywhere from 20 to 200 quid depending on how the weeks going... usually 50 though... when im chasing it gets stupid...

I'm in the $100-200 range per bet. But I'm also betting as a profit strategy, not entertainment.

Recreational bettors I know IRL are doing like $20-50.

My standard unit is $500, which is 2% of my bankroll. So that's my "normal" bet.

But I teach high school so I see kids talking about betting $5-10, which makes sense for their budget.

Exactly. I bet $500 per unit too, but that's 1% of my total bankroll. The dollar amount is meaningless without context.

500 dollars is like 400 quid innit?

That's mental to me.

My biggest bet ever was maybe 200 quid.
