Manchester United vs Leeds United Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Manchester United:
De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Sabitzer, Fred; Antony, Fernandes, Rashford; Weghorst

Leeds United:
Meslier; Ayling, Koch, Cooper, Wober; Adams, McKennie; Sinisterra, Aaronson, Gnonto; Rutter

Manchester United welcome Leeds to Old Trafford in the first of two meetings in the space of a week in the Premier League. They will face once again on Sunday, but in different roles. The Red Devils are in excellent form at the moment. In addition, they have secured the EFL Cup final. Winning the first piece of silverware will be just what new manager Erik ten Hag need. The atmosphere in the squad is excellent, while the players confidence is high. Man United have won the last six home matches in the Premier League, including a 2:1 win against the reigning champions Man City. However, Ten Hag has some issues ahead of this match. Key midfielder Christian Eriksen suffered an ankle injury and will be sidelined for a longer period. Anthony Martial and Donny van de Beek also remain out for the hosts. Casemiro was sent off against Crystal Palace and the Brazilian will serve the first of a three-game ban here. His absence is a huge handicap for Ten Hag. Scott McTominay and Diogo Dalot have recovered and could take part in this match. And finally about Mason Grenwood - the charges of attempted rape were recently dropped, but there are some rumors the club are conducting their own internal review before deciding the 21-year-old's future.

Leeds United are just above the relegation zone, on the 17th place. They have 18 points, same as Everton, the first team in the drop zone. It is clear the situation is very complicated. The Whites are in poor form in the last period, with two defeats and one draw on the last three matches in the Premier League. Leeds lost to Nottingham and Aston Villa, while played a goalless draw with Brentford. What is worse, they haven't score a single goal on the last two matches. Worst of all, key striker Rodrigo is facing two months on the sidelines after undergoing surgery. The Brazilian-born Spanish international suffered an ankle injury in their FA Cup victory over Accrington Stanley. Rodrigo sustained the injury in a challenge during the match, and suffered ligament and bone damage to his ankle which required surgery. His absence will be a big handicap for the manager Jesse Marsch, with Rodrigo their top scorer this season with 10 goals. Archie Gray, Stuart Dallas, Sonny Perkins and Adam Forshaw are also out injured. On a brighter note, record signing Georginio Rutter are looking for a starting place, as well as Weston McKennie who came on loan from Juventus.

Manchester United vs Leeds United Prediction:

Manchester United have taken 10 points from 12 available against Leeds since the Whites' promotion back to the top flight in 2020. Both home victories were high, 6:2 in December 2020 and 5:1 in August 2021. Having on mind the guests are without best scorer Rodrigo due to injury, I think the Red Devils will win win once again and I expect to cover the handicap.

Arsenal vs Brentford

Arsenal had ended their 15 Premier League unbeaten run by Everton at Goodison Park last weekend had shocked the Gunners. The Gunners had now lost 2 consecutive games and failed to score. Luckily, Man City also lost to Spurs, so Arsenal cannot slip up at home.

Brentford last 2 visits to Arsenal had scored, it wouldn't surprise me if they can do this again.

Leeds United vs Manchester United Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Leeds United:
Meslier; Ayling, Koch, Wober, Firpo; Adams, McKennie; Summerville, Aaronson, Gnonto; Bamford

Manchester United:
De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Sabitzer, Fred; Sancho, Fernandes, Rashford; Weghorst

Just four days after playing a 2:2 draw at Old Trafford, Leeds United and Manchester United renew hostilities, this time at Elland Road. The Red Devils were huge favorites on Wednesday, but dropped two points at the end. Or maybe it is correct to say Leeds dropped two points. The Whites, who sacked manager Jesse Marsch on Monday, had 2:0 until the 62nd minute. Wilfried Gnonto gave the guests a first-minute lead, while Raphael Varane turned Crysencio Summerville's cutback into his own net in the 48th minute. But Ten Hag's men didn't gave up and Marcus Rashford halved the deficit shortly after hour-mark. Jadon Sancho, who has returned to first-team duties after recovering from physical and mental issues, equalized the result with his first league goal since September.

Leeds should be satisfied with a draw at Old Trafford. Led by former England futsal head coach Michael Skubala, they played very good and missed some good opportunities. The Whites now have 19 points, and they are deeply involved into the relegation battle. The situation is very complicated and the players feel huge pressure. The overall form is poor, with two draws and two defeats on the last four matches in the Premier League. Leeds lost to Nottingham and Aston Villa, while shared the points with Brentford and Manchester United. The interim manager Skubala has big injury issues. The key striker Rodrigo suffered an ankle injury in their FA Cup victory over Accrington Stanley and will be out at least two months. His absence is a huge handicap as he is the club leading scorer this season with 10 goals. Luis Sinisterra suffered a hamstring injury after just just eight minutes at Old Trafford, while Pascal Struijk was withdrawn as a concussion substitution. Stuart Dallas, Archie Gray and Adam Forshaw remain sidelined, while Liam Cooper and Marc Roca are rated as doubtful.

This is a solid season for Manchester United. New manager Erik ten Hag is doing an excellent job and the players confidence is high. Man United are third with 43 points, two less than Man City and seven less than league leaders Arsenal. Too bad they dropped seven points on the last four matches. Manager Erik ten Hag also has big injury and suspension issues ahead of this match. Key midfielders Christian Eriksen and Casemiro are sidelined. Danish international suffered an ankle injury, while the Brazilian will serve the second of a three-game ban here. Their absence is a huge handicap for Ten Hag. Three more players are also sidelined - Donny van de Beek, Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial. That's not all as Antony and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are doubtful. Wout Weghorst is yet to score since joining the club on loan in January, but should start again. The situation with Mason Grenwood is not clear. The charges of attempted rape were recently dropped, but he there are some rumors that his teammates don't want him in the squad.

Leeds United vs Manchester United Prediction:

Leeds were able to remain unbeaten at Old Trafford three days ago, so why not again, this time as hosts. Manchester United are without the creativity of Christian Eriksen and without the game management skills of Casemiro. It was clear they had problem with Leeds' pressing. And I think the pressure will be even bigger now.

Liverpool vs Everton Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Liverpool:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Matip, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Bajcetic; Salah, Nunez, Gakpo

Everton:
Pickford; Coleman, Coady, Tarkowski, Mykolenko; Iwobi, Onana, Gueye, Doucoure, McNeil; Maupay

Liverpool welcome Everton at Anfield on Monday night in the second Merseyside derby this season. As usual, I will start my preview with some history. For those who don't know, Merseyside is the name of the river that divide the city. The match had been referred to as the "Merseyside derby" in at least one national newspaper in 1955. Traditionally, the Merseyside derby was referred to as the "Friendly Derby" because of the large number of families who have both Reds (Liverpool) and Blues (Everton) supporters in them. Nevertheless, the so called "Friendly Derby" has seen more Red cards (21) than any other in the Premier League history. Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard and former Everton captain Phil Neville both saw red twice in derby games. Liverpool have better H2H record, they have lost just once in the last 26 mutual games across all competitions. The reverse fixture played at Goodison Park in September have finished with a goalless draw. The Merseyside derby have ended 0:0 more often than any other fixture in Premier League history - 12 times.

Liverpool sit in the middle of the table with 29 points. The Reds are huge 12 points adrift of fourth-placed Newcastle, while the leaders Arsenal have 22 points more. According to me, it is wrong to make comparison with the top of the table. It is right time to say the Reds are just 11 points away from the relegation zone. The season is lost and Jurgen Klopp looks unable to change something. The fans like him very much and he has an iconic status at Anfield. Last season, the Reds came within two wins of an unprecedented quadruple, but now they are only a shadow of the team that nearly made history. The injury situation is going from bad to worse, Thiago Alcantara is the latest victim. Virgil van Dijk, Arthur, Ibrahima Konate and Luis Diaz remain sidelined, but Diogo Jota has recovered and could play here. Firmino is back in full training, but it seems this match is coming too soon for him.

Everton are in the drop zone and they are deeply involved into the relegation battle. The poor results were the reason Frank Lampard to be sacked, while the former Burnley manager Sean Dyche took the team. And the Toofees picked up their first victory in 11 games in all competitions against the leaders Arsenal courtesy of a link-up between two men who played for Dyche at Burnley. Centre-back James Tarkowski rose at the far post to power home a header from Dwight McNeil's corner to secure a narrow 1:0 win. Everton players gave the maximum on that match and could scored more, but striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin failed to convert few good opportunities. There are unlikely to be any tactical changes from Dyche's new 4-5-1 formation, but Calvert-Lewin suffered a hamstring injury against the Gunners and he is rated as doubtful.
Michael Keane and Nathan Patterson remain sidelined, while this match come too soon for long-term absentees James Garner and Ben Godfrey.

Liverpool vs Everton Prediction:

This is a big derby and the current form normally goes out of the window in these games. I am sure the Liverpool fans are desperately hoping that is the case. However, the absence of both central defenders Konate and Van Dijk is a huge problem for Klopp. To be worse, Matip and Gomez were awful against Wolverhampton. Everton looked well organized against Arsenal last week and they deserved to beat the leaders. I think they will remain unbeaten at Anfiekd.
