Wolverhampton welcome Manchester City to Molineux in a very interesting match on Wednesday night. Bruno Lage's men are full of confidence after they fought back to draw 2:2 with Chelsea at the weekend. Wolves are 8th with 50 points and they will try to finish as high as possible on the table. Mathematically, they are still in battle for the Europa, but in reality it is different. The series of three defeats in the last four matches is the key reason for that. To be worse, Wolverhampton must still face City and Liverpool before the final whistle blows on a tumultuous campaign, with a home clash to poor Norwich City. It is hard to believe the Wanderers could obtain three victories in the last three matches. For this match Lage has some positive news as Daniel Podence is back from ankle injury, even this match will likely come too soon for the Portuguese. Maximilian Kilman and Nelson Semedo both remain sidelined. Even Lage himself is rated as doubtful due to COVID-19. Some changes are possible, with Chiquinho pushing hard for a start after his 20-minute game-changing cameo against Chelsea.

Manchester City have three-point advantage to the second-placed Liverpool. As You probably know, the Reds dropped two points against Tottenham during the weekend. The Citizens are in fantastic form, winning the last four in a row. They beat Brighton with 3:0, Watford 5:1, Leeds United 4:0 and Newcastle 5:0. As You could see, Pep Guardiola's men have scored 17 goals, while conceded just once. However, not everything was positive in the last week. Manchester City have suffered a painful elimination from the Champions League. It was a shocking outcome as they had a 5:3 aggregate lead until the 90th minute in Madrid, but then collapsed. Real scored twice and the match went into extra time where Karim Benzema earned and then converted a penalty. It was a huge failure, but they are now fully focused on the Premier League. Guardiola has some issues ahead of this match as four players are injured. Defenders Kyle Walker, John Stones and Ruben Dias will all miss the remaining three matches of the season through various injury problems. To be worse, Nathan Ake is nursing a sprained ankle. Most probably Laporte will be paired with Fernandinho in the heart of the defense. Pep has no other concerns to worry about in midfield or attack. Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva were both rested and could start now.

Wolverhampton vs Manchester City Prediction:

I expect Manchester City to win the match. Since the odds for a straight victory are too low, I will suggest handicap. The Citizens are in excellent form in the Premier League. They won the last four matches and all victories were high. Guardiola's men have beat Brighton with 3:0, Watford 5:1, Leeds United 4:0 and Newcastle 5:0. As I already wrote, the reigning champions have scored 17 goals, while conceded one. I believe the series will continue.

Leicester City
They do not have the strength in depth to handle a two-fronted attack on EPL and European games. Although they put all their effort into the Conference League, leading to a bad performance in EPL, they were out by AS Roma in the semi-final. They are in a poor state. The last victory they have got was in April from PSV Eindhoven.

Norwich City
Obviously, there is not enough quality for them to play in EPL. They rank at the bottom of the League table. They will degrade to EFL. In the last game, they lose to West Ham 4-0, suffering a four-match losing streak.

Tottenham Hotspur host bitter rivals Arsenal in another North London derby. Fans of both clubs consider the other to be their main rivals, and the mutual game is between the most famous and fiercest derbies in the World. The first derby was played in 1887, however the rivalry did not begin until 1913 when Arsenal moved their ground to North London. As of 26 September 2021, 190 games have been played between the two teams since their first game in the Football League in 1909, with 79 wins for Arsenal, 60 wins for Tottenham and 51 games drawn. There are some notable derbies, like the match in which Arsenal won the league at White Hart Lane in 1971. The highest-scoring derby is the 5:4 win by Arsenal at White Hart Lane in 2004. The top scorer in this fixture is Harry Kane with 11 goals, while Bobby Smith and Emmanuel Adebayor are sharing the second place with 10 goals each.

Tottenham are fifth with 62 points, four less than Arsenal. The poor results in April have harmed their Champions League hopes, but the Spurs are improving in the last period. Harry Kane should lead the line despite the fact he has failed to score in back-to-back North London derbies.

Arsenal have big chance to secure the fourth place. They have 66 points and they could attack the third placed Chelsea. Of course, they need a positive result on this match. The actual form is very good, they have four wins in a row. The Gunners managed to beat Chelsea, Manchester United, West Ham and Leeds United. The last victory was all but easy. The atmosphere in the squad is excellent, while the players confidence is high. Arteta also has some injury worries ahead of North London derby. Defender Ben White has missed the last two games with a tight hamstring, and he is rated as doubtful. Another unsure player is Bukayo Saka, who was forced off in the win over Leeds. Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney are definitely sidelined through injury. Arteta will wait positive news about White, who may play as right-back, as the prospect of Cedric Soares coming up against Son Heung-min is not a pleasant thought for Arsenal fans.

Tottenham vs Arsenal Prediction:

I expect both teams to score in North London derby. Tottenham must go for the victory, but at the same time Arsenal will have space for counterattacks. The Spurs have only managed to keep one clean sheet in their last seven Premier League matches at home. The Gunners are in excellent form, they have four victories in a row. All these facts suggest goals.
