Liverpool vs Wolverhampton Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Liverpool:
Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Milner, Naby Keita, Lallana, Shaqiri, Salah, Firmino, Origi

Wolverhampton:
Rui Patricio, Dendoncker, Coady, Saiss, Doherty, Moutinho, Neves, Jonny, Adama Traore, Jimenez, Jota

Liverpool produced a masterclass to overpower the nearest challengers Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. The Reds won 4:0, mostly thanks to Firmino's brace. By the way, his second was the 500th Liverpool have scored under Jurgen Klopp in all competitions. Trent Alexander-Arnold should also be mentioned. Many believe he was the star of the show. The right-back created two goals for Firmino and scored himself with a rasping drive. That means Arnold has now assisted eight in the Premier League and 10 in all competitions this season. He has also registered 20 assists in the Premier League since start of last season, more than any other player. Liverpool now have 13-point advantage over the Foxes and 14 points more than biggest rivals, the reigning champions Manchester City. Most of the pundits wrote Guardiola's side need a miracle, but I don't agree. One or two defeats will bring enormous nervous between the Reds. Once the opponents come within touching distance of Liverpool, it will change the things. Liverpool have had too many near misses since their last title win in 1990. It is obvious they have a problem to handle the pressure, something Manchester City players don/t. Liverpool have been top at Christmas 4 times before and never won the title. They lost out to Manchester City in seasons 2013-14 and 2018-19 and lost to Manchester United in seasons 1996-97 and 2008-09. The bad memories aren't the only issue for Klopp. The German coach doesn’t have many options in defense when it comes to rotating. Klopp has to continue with Gomez-Van Dijk partnership in the heart of the defense. It's at full-back they struggle, and there is no alternative for Alexander-Arnold. Milner, meanwhile, could come in to replace Robertson. Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Nathaniel Clyne, Joel Matip, Fabinho and Dejan Lovren remain out injured. Jordan Henderson, who hobbled off against Leicester, is rated as doubtful. Klopp has no suspension concerns, but Alexander-Arnold is one booking away from a ban heading into their final match before the threshold increases to 10.

Wolverhampton have seemingly overcome a poor start and now find themselves in the fifth place. They sit above the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal in the Premier League table. Their main goal of the season is another top-half finish and UEFA Europe League spot. But the fact they are just two points away from the Champions League zone raises the fans' expectations. Many of them start dreaming about the top European competition. Two victories in the last two matches, including a heroic 3:2 win over the reigning champions, showed nothing is impossible. Wolves fought back from two goals down to beat Manchester City in a memorable encounter at Molineux. Adama Traore and Raul Jimenez scored the first two goals before Matt Doherty secured the victory with a shot from the edge of the area in the final minute. Jimenez has been directly involved in 26 goals across all competitions this season (scored 17 and assisted 9) - more than any other Premier League player. Adama Traore should also be mentioned, he is only the third player to score three goals in a single season against Guardiola's Manchester City. The individual statistic is important, but Wolverhampton are stronger as a team. The Wanderers have now lost just two of their last 21 outings across all competitions. Don't forget Liverpool also lost some games this season (in the Champions League and EFL Cup). It is good that manager Nuno Espirito Santo has no new injury or suspension worries, but the players have no time for rest. This could be a problem, though I believe the big victory over the champions on Friday will re-energize them. In terms of injury, Willy Boly (ankle) and Morgan Gibbs-White (back) remain sidelined.

Liverpool vs Wolverhampton Prediction
:

Pep Guardiola conceded the Premier League title race is over after his team lost on Friday night. Asked about that, Pep told BBC: "The advantage is too big, yes." However, Liverpool failures are the only times this decade the team top at Christmas has not gone on to win the Premier League, with Chelsea (three times), Manchester United (twice), Manchester City (twice) and Leicester all converting festive leads into silverware. I believe the players feel some pressure, as well as Klopp. Wolverhampton players are full of confidence after the big victory over the reigning champions Manchester City. The Reds are known as side thaty never give up, but the Wolves have won more points from losing positions than any other club in the Premier League this season - 14. I believe they are also able to score at Anfield.

The climate at Anfield will be festive, both for days and for Liverpool's scoring position. Offensive both teams are great and we are expecting an open match today, with no particular intentions from the guests.
LIVERPOOL FC vs WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS @@ Both team to score, odds 1.90

Great game for both teams, who want a good look with a tripod accompaniment. They do not inspire confidence and in the end everything is open. Defenders have a lot of problems and their pitch is easily breached, so we'll see an open goal-scoring game
ARSENAL FC vs CHELSEA FC @@ +2.50 Over, odds 1.55
