Newcastle United vs. Manchester City Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Newcastle United:
Dubravka; Fernandez, Clark, Dummett; Murphy, Almiron, Shelvey, Willock, Ritchie; Saint-Maximin, Joelinton

Manchester City:
Ederson; Walker, Stones, Dias, Zinchenko; Silva, Rodrigo, Gundogan; Mahrez, Jesus, Foden

Newcastle United welcome Manchester City at St James Park on Friday. The Magpies are on the 16th place with 39 points. They are out of the relegation battle as the gap with 18th-placed Fulham is twelve points, with three matches to go. The actual form is good, they have three wins on the last five matches. Newcastle beat Burnley, West Ham and Leicester City. The 1:1 draw with Liverpool at Anfield should also be mentioned. The only defeat came against Arsenal. Manager Steve Bruce could be satisfied with the performance of his team. The atmosphere in the squad is very good. They will meet the already-relegated Sheffield United and Fulham in their final two matches, so I expect Steve Bruce to keep the promise that the Magpies will improve the last season's points tally of 44. But Bruce has some injury and suspension worries ahead of this match. Defender Fabian Schar, who's just recovered from knee operation, is banned after saw a red card against Arsenal. The Swiss international want to play at the upcoming Euro 2020 this summer, but the long rehabilitation and the current suspension are not helping him. The key striker Callum Wilson will not play this season because of a hamstring injury. Considering he is the club leading scorer with 12 goals, his absence is a huge handicap. That's not all as four additional players are out injured - Isaac Hayden, Jamaal Lascelles, Karl Darlow and Ryan Fraser.

Manchester City are officially new champions thanks to Leicester City victory at Old Trafford on Tuesday. Their lead at the top is 10 points, with only three matches remaining. Man City have already secured the League Cup trophy after beat Tottenham and they are on the way to the treble. The most important match will come on May 29, when they will face Chelsea in the Champions League final. It is not clear where the match will be played as there are three options - Istanbul, London or Lisbon. The actual form isn't at desired level, City lost 2:1 to Chelsea last week. Both managers tried to hide something on that game, keeping the cards close to chest. Raheem Sterling scored the opener just before half-time and then City had a chance for second goal through penalty. Sergio Aguero tried Panenka, but it was a poor effort that costed his team the points. Hakim Ziyech and Marcos Alonso scored the goals for Chelsea and turned out the result. Despite the loss, the atmosphere in the squad is excellent, while the players confidence is high. Guardiola has most of the players available, only Kevin de Bruyne remain sidelined. The Belgian international missed out against Chelsea last week and won't be risked here. Some players that were rested against the Blues (Phil Foden, Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva) should play here, as well as John Stones who served a three-match suspension.

Newcastle United vs. Manchester City Prediction:

I expect both teams to score at St James Park. I should not explain anything about Manchester City, they will surely score here. The question is about Newcastle, are they able to find the back of the net against the new champions? I think so. The Magpies play good against the favorites. They stunned Leicester City 4:2 away from home last week. Previously they upseted Liverpool and Tottenham. Bruce's men played 1:1 against the Reds and 2:2 against the Spurs. The victory over high flying West Ham should also be mentioned, Newcastle won 3:2 on that match. I am well aware of the fact they will be missing the best scorer Callum Wilson due to injury, but I still believe they could score against the new champions.

Newcastle United vs. Manchester City Pick:

Burnley

They play well in recent games, getting 2W-1L. It is out of expectation that they get two clean sheets from Wolves and Fulham. Now they rank the fifteenth in the table of the League, without any threat of relegation.

Leeds United

They are sitting in the tenth place in League table. They also play well recently, taking points from Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Liverpool. But they are still weak in away games, with 47% winning percentage.

Verdict:

Neither of them take the upper hand or lower hand over each other in past head-to-head clashes with a record of 4W-2D-4L. Leeds United are certainly better than Burnley this season. Nevertheless, Burnley have never been defeated by Leeds United when as host. So the result of the game is suggested to be draw.

Prediction: 1-1, 2-2

Newcastle vs Manchester City

Friday 14th May 8pm

Newcastle have been in brilliant form winning three of their last five matches and putting in a scintillating performance last weekend in a 2-4 victory against Leicester. Unfortunately the scorer of two goals, Callum Wilson is again injured but they do have a fit and firing Joe Willock

Four of Newcastle's last five have finished with both sides scoring.

Manchester City have won five of their last seven matches. Both of the defeats came at the hands of Chelsea and the latest was a 1-2 loss in the Premier League where Raheem Sterling fired the Manchester City goal after a poor Sergio Aguero touch put the ball into his path.

Newcastle's both teams to score record is impressive but it would take a brave man to back them to score against a Man City side that has been impressive defensively this season.

Newcastle have conceded plenty of shots this season and Man City have hit 10+ off target in three of their last five. I'm backing that to translate into plenty of corners.

Our Tips:
  • Man City Over 2 Corners In Each Half - 29/20
Prediction:

0-2

West Bromwich Albion vs Liverpool Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

West Bromwich Albion:
Johnstone; Ajayi, Bartley, O'Shea; Furlong, Yokuslu, Maitland-Niles, Gallagher, Townsend; Pereira; Diagne

Liverpool:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Williams, Robertson; Fabinho, Thiago, Jones; Salah, Firmino, Mane

West Bromwich Albion welcome Liverpool at The Hawthorns on Sunday, with the Reds looking to continue the winning series in the battle for a Champions League spot. The hosts, meanwhile, have nothing to play for, they are already relegated. But this is England, not Italy. What that means - it means WBA will fight until the last match. And they know how to make problems to Liverpool - six of the past eight Premier League meetings between these two sides have ended in a draw, with Liverpool winning just twice. Even more, the Baggies have won 3:2 the FA Cup fixture played in January 2018 at Anfield. Allardyce like to play against the Reds - Big Sam is unbeaten in his past five Premier League meetings with Liverpool. West Brom are in solid form, just one defeat on the last three matches in the Premier League. The home form is also good, they are unbeaten on the last three fixtures at The Hawthorns. WBA managed to beat Southampton with 3:0, while shared the points with Newcastle and Wolverhampton. I think the players confidence is high, despite the fact they will play in the Championship Division next season. Allardyce has two injury issues ahead of this match. Midfielder Robert Snodgrass will miss the rest of the season with a back injury, while Serbian defender Branislav Ivanovic is also on the long-term injury list. Arsenal loanee Ainsley Maitland-Niles is available, having been ineligible to play against the parent club last weekend.

Liverpool are on the fifth place, just outside the Champions League spots. However, victories on the last three matches of the season could see them finishing on the fourth place because Chelsea and Leicester City - currently third and fourth - have to play each other at Stamford Bridge on 18 May. Liverpool are in mini-series of two victories and they must continue that way. The overall form isn't at desired level, but the last victory was very important. The Reds won 4:2 against Manchester United at Old Trafford. The start of the match was awful - Bruno Fernandes (or maybe Phillips own-goal) gave the opponents a lead. Nevertheless, Liverpool hit back through Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino's brace. By the way, the Brazilian has scored his 17th headed goal in the Premier League for the Reds. Only Robbie Fowler (21) has scored more headers in the league for the club. Marcus Rashford pulled one back for Man United midway through the second half but Mohamed Salah secured three points with his 21st Premier League goal of the season. The Egyptian winger is level with Harry Kane in the Golden Boot standings. But Klopp's injury issues are showing no signs of letting up anytime soon. He remains without senior central defenders as Ozan Kabak joined Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip on the injury list. That's not all, Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Naby Keita's absences have restricted Klopp's options in the midfield. Another problem for Klopp is Sadio Mane. He wasn't happy with manager's decision to start from the bench against Manchester and refused coach's handshake after the match. It will be interesting to see Klopp's reaction.

West Bromwich Albion vs Liverpool Prediction:

I expect both teams to score at The Hawthorns West Bromwich have been very good for goals. Their last three matches have produced goals on both sides. Liverpool, meanwhile, need three points from this match and I expect full offensive. The Reds attacking power is very big, but the defense doesn't look reliable. With all four senior centre-backs out injured, Rhys Williams and Nat Phillips are likely to pair up in the heart of defense once more. They failed to impress at Old Trafford, and I expect more problems to come. Liverpool have just one clean sheet on the last five Premier League fixtures.
