Tottenham Hotspur host Manchester City at New White Hart Lane on Tuesday night. Like never before, the whole North London is with the Spurs as their arch-enemies Arsenal hope the Citizens could drop points here. Tottenham were fighting for a European spot, but suffered four defeats in the last period. First they lost 4:0 to Newcastle United, then lost 3:2 to Arsenal in North London derby, then lost 2:0 to Chelsea and finally suffered a 4:2 loss to Liverpool at Anfield. The fans are frustrated as they were expected a Top Four finish. However, the poor series ended on Saturday when they beat Burnley. It wasn't easy against relegation candidates that scored first. However, just seven minutes after the Clarets had opened the scoring, Tottenham equalized through Pedro Porro, while Micky van de Ven, completed the turnaround. Manager Postecoglou has big injury worries ahead of this match. Striker Richarlison is sidelined with a calf injury. The injury is so serious that Brazil national team coach Dorival Junior decided not to include him in the squad for Copa America. Six additional players are also out injured - Timo Werner, Ben Davies, Manor Solomon, Ryan Sessegnon, Fraser Forster and Destiny Udogie.
Manchester City will climb on the first place if they beat Tottenham. Another victory for the weekend will mean they are Premier League champions. The Citizens are just one point behind the current leaders Arsenal having played a match less. Guardiola's men are in excellent form, winning the last seven league matches. City were impressive in the last matches. They destroyed Wolverhampton Wanderers, winning 5:1 at Etihad two weeks ago, while on Saturday beat Fulham 4:0 at Craven Cottage. Interesting to be mentioned, Haaland wasn't a scorer against Fulham, nor Kevin de Bruyne. The newly-prolific Josko Gvardiol came up with two of the Citizens' four strikes, while FWA Player of the Year Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez also found the back of the net, the latter from a penalty. The atmosphere in the team is excellent, while the players confidence is high. In addition, Guardiola has almost a fully-fit squad to choose from, just two players are struggling with injury. So, Pep has some injury issues, but nowhere near Postecoglou. Nathan Ake had to be pulled out of Fulham game and he is rated as doubtful. Jack Grealish missed out the Saturday's match at Craven Cottage due to illness and he is also doubtful.
Tottenham vs Manchester City Prediction:
Manchester City are just two steps from the title. This is their biggest challenge, however I think they will win. I expect a high victory for the Citizens. It's simple, there is a class difference between City and Tottenham at the moment. The Spurs have four defeats in the last five matches and the players confidence is questionable. On contrary, City are easily winning their matches and I don't see a way the actual Tottenham to upset them.
