Gambling can become a strong addiction. You should be careful with it. People wasting all money on betting but still looking for any opportunities to spend more. Be careful!
I think gambling can be addictive if we don't manage to control it! sorry for your friend. Most people won't agree on this but just like alcohol, cigarettes, drugs etc if you are not careful then YES, definitely it can become addictive. But on the other hand, it's also fun, rewarding and distracting (that rush is awsome!)
People with compulsive gambling often have problems with drug abuse, personality disorder, depression or anxiety. Compulsive gambling may also be associated with bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder
I think those are early signs of addiction which you better help your brother to stop while you still can. It'll be hard to control it if he keeps going to a gambling house to play. I have no idea how would you help a gambling addict but probably just be there for him emotionally and try to talk your way so that he won't feel some withdrawal symptoms who I think are much harder to deal with.
