I think that the best strategy is to bet for fun. If you take it way too seriously, you probably will lose your money (if you're not a professional bettor ofc) Also, know really well the book you're using, the best thing you can do is to search reviews of the books you're using or want to use.

You are very right. There is no point in being too serious about this as in the long run only a very little percentage of bettors actually live off this activity. The martingale system is the most used by beginners but to actually use this u need a big initial capital which you will see is not worth it.
