When Did You Stop Calling Yourself a 'Sports Fan' and Start Calling Yourself a 'Bettor'?

Fade, because fandom is about joy and community.

Betting is about analysis and money.

We traded joy for profit.

See Princess that's the shift.

Team winning becomes secondary to bet winning.

Princess experiencing early stages of transformation.

Team loyalty conflicting with betting logic.

Eventually betting logic dominates.

i dont have any team loyalty left... just bet whatever... premier league bundesliga nba... dont care about any of it... just need the action...

Conor's situation is different. That's addiction to betting itself, not sports.

The rest of us at least started as sports fans.

There's a spectrum here:

Pure fan → Fan who bets → Bettor who has favorite teams → Pure bettor → Gambling addict

We're all somewhere on that line.

Honestly? "Bettor who has favorite teams."

I still root for the Cowboys but I bet against them regularly.

The betting identity is primary now.

I'm stuck between "fan who bets" and "bettor who has favorite teams."

Still bleed red for Wales but also lay them when the price is right.

Identity crisis innit.

Always been "pure bettor."

Never had strong team loyalty. Sports interesting for analytical challenge.

No identity shift experienced.

I'm "pure bettor" now. Browns are just one team I analyze like any other.

The shift was liberating honestly. Removed emotional bias.

That's the question isn't it.

Is this maturation or corruption?
