Betting Forum What's the most stupid thing you've heard a non-gambler said about gambling?

I've heard that gambling sites have some kind of application that can hypnotize you right through the screen. You can't turn off your PC until you lose all your money.

The funniest thing I heard was that all gamblers are just rich people.

There are all kinds of people. I personally don't have much craving, but I don't mind playing poker. I personally really enjoy the thrill of the game. I want to tell you that it's worth it. From time to time I do get lucky enough to make a little extra cash for small expenses. I had a situation where my wife's brother, in front of everyone at the family table, started to slander me for being a poker enthusiast. But, you know, I didn't pay much attention to it. I don't think there's anything wrong with even betting on a sporting event. If you're in control, why not?

The funiest thing I heard was that bookmakers doesn't always win be it in sports or casino

I heard from the guy I work with that gambling is something that Masons came up with to make people slaves.

The funniest thing I heard was that all gamblers are just rich people. I hasten to disappoint you, and this is not the case. Well, middle-income people can very often be seen playing slots and roulette, as well as other simulators. Along with the poor, the middle class, who are customers of gambling establishments, crave untold riches and a lot of pleasure and emotional discharge. I am not from a wealthy family myself, I work as many people, but I like to play at on weekends and either win or lose and unfortunately, there is a chance to fail.

My wife is a non-gambler, and she constantly bugs me about how bad it is for me and for our family. And though I agree with her, I just can't find the high I get from winning a gamble anywhere else. I've tried alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, and nothing...

I've tried alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, and nothing... I recently started online gambling because of Covid, and I must say that it has been a great compromise for my wife and me. I spend more time at home and less money, and she doesn't criticize me anymore. I mostly play Poker or Blackjack, and I highly recommend this platform.

My most hated situation come from interaction with gamblers:

Many friends are into in-play sports betting... let's say there are 15 games in-play... my friend just scrolls the odds... wherever goal is scored here it comes "Oh fcuk that's what I wanted to play!!! The god see me!" ... another goal is scored in other match "OH MY GOD i was about to bet on this"...

It's mental illness, people look at all matches and just for themselves they think about the possible result or bets but in fact they never consider placing a bet, and when the goal is scored they rage so much about how unlucky they are. I literally hate to listen to that.

You are right, I can definitely see myself in this comment. I usually don't have the guts to place the bet and after that I feel bad.

hey it's ok we all know that feeling :D BUT - it's important to never bother your friends with bets you never made (in upset tone like the fortune is always against you) 🤣

I never bother them. I directly torture them, until they give me some sense of comfort for the "missed chances" ;)

I think when people hear the word "betting", it oftentimes just conjures up the worst picture that they can think of connected to the word. They don't understand that there's different levels to betting like just having fun betting on a football game amongst friends or something. It's not always about some person going down a rabbit hole of destruction and wrecking their life.

I have heard that all gamblers are criminals. This sounds stupid to me because they are not

I'm sure most of us are unlucky enough to be surrounded by 'civilians' who are against gambling because 'gambling's bad cry cry I'm so morally superior for not gambling.' It's the most frustrating when they're your close friends and family. So let's have a collective rant (hail Marx!) as to the most ridiculous thing you've heard a non-gambler said.

I'll get the ball rolling. Josh Emil Rodner, a friend of my weed dealer, uttered these blasphemous words on April 24th 2019: "You're crazy if you think you can win big at a casino and get away with it. They'll send people to beat you up in an alley or something to take the money back. Or ELse hOw wOuLd tHeY MAke A ProFiT??"

Your turn.
That they are wasteful and ignorant.

I have heard most non-gamblers said that gambling is not acceptable by God. That its source of fund is unclean and a means to hack people's accounts online.
