England vs Greece Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

England:
Pickford; Alexander-Arnold, Guehi, Colwill, Lewis; Rice, Bellingham; Saka, Palmer, Grealish; Watkins

Greece:
Vlachodimos; Rota, Mavropanos, Koulierakis, Tsimikas; Siopis, Kourbelis; Masouras, Bakasetas, Tzolis; Pavlidis

England will welcome Greece to Wembley on Thursday evening in League B Group 2 of the UEFA Nations League. The Three Lions are without permanent coach since Gareth Southgate left the national team after eight years in charge following defeat by Spain in the Euro 2024 final this summer. However, the results under interim boss Lee Carsley are good. England have two victories and share the first place with Greece as both teams have collect six points. The Three Lions managed to beat Republic of Ireland 2:0 thanks to goals scored by two Irishmen, Declan Rice and Jack Grealish. Few days latter England scored another two unanswered goals to beat Finland as Harry Kane celebrated his 100th appearance for the national team with a brace. Bayern Munich's striker is in excellent form, but he is rated as doubtful due to injury. Kane is very important, but Ollie Watkins or Dominic Solanke are both in terrific form at the moment. Three players are definitely sidelined through injuries - Ezri Konsa, Morgan Gibbs-White and Kobbie Mainoo. On the positive note, Kyle Walker, Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham and Cole Palmer are back in the national team.

Greece are also with maximal six points after the first two rounds. Even more, they are leaders thanks to the superior goal difference. The 2004 European Champions first beat Republic of Ireland 2:0 thanks to goals scored by Fotis Ioannidis and Christos Tzolis. In the second match Greece won 3:0 against Finland. Ioannidis was "Player of Match" after scored a brace. As You could see, three of Greece's five efforts last month were struck by Panathinaikos attacker Ioannidis. Only Benjamin Sesko from Slovenia has more across the entire 2024-25 Nations League - four goals. Coach Ivan Jovanovic, who replaced Gustavo Poyet this summer, is doing an excellent job and the fans are satisfy. However, this match is crucial for Greece ambitions. The 62-year-old Serbian coach will try to end Greece's 12-match winless run against top-five ranked nations. But Jovanovic has a huge problem as Ioannidis sustained an injury during Panathinaikos' recent clash with Olympiacos. He has been left out of the squad and Vangelis Pavlidis will lead the line. He should not be underestimated, mainly because he has scored a phenomenal 80 goals in three seasons with AZ Alkmaar in Eredivisie before joining Benfica this summer.

England vs Greece Prediction:

Both England and Greece will try to obtain a positive result at Wembley. Greece could be satisfy even with a draw, but England fans will ask for a victory. The Three Lions beat Republic of Ireland and Finland, both with the same result (2:0). I expect another such victory, this time against Greece at Wembley. The key reason for my pick is the absence of Fotis Ioannidis. He has scored three of Greece's five goals so far and his absence is a huge handicap. Ioannidis is simply irreplaceable.

England vs Greece Pick: England - 1.5 AH @ 1.93 with Pinnacle

Serbia vs Switzerland Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Serbia:
Rajkovic; Erakovic, Milenkovic, Pavlovic; Nedeljkovic, Lukic, Grujic, Maksimovic, Birmancevic; Samardzic; Mitrovic

Switzerland:
Kobel; Elvedi, Akanji, Rodriguez; Widmer, Freuler, Xhaka, Aebischer; Ndoye, Amdouni; Embolo

Serbia and Switzerland will resume their hostility when they square off in Leskovac on Saturday night. This is "more than just a game." The tensions started In 2018, when these national teams met in the first round of the FIFA World Cup in Russia. Switzerland won the match, but Kosovo-born Swiss players Xherdan Shaqiri and Granit Xhaka decided to provoke the Serbs and both had made the two-headed eagle gesture during the celebration. There were incidents at World Cup in Qatar with Xhaka involved again. His brother Taulant Xhaka reveals he asked Granit to skip the upcoming match against Serbia, but without success. Taulant Xhaka was on the field in Belgrade in 2014, when the match between Albanian national team and Serbia was cancelled. He is aware Granit will be under enormous pressure here.

Serbia are without a victory after the opening two matches. First they played a goalless draw with Spain, while in the second round lost 2:0 to Denmark. Worst of all, Serbia have failed to score a single goal in the last three matches for the first time since 2012. But there is something positive too. Coach Dragan Stojkovic's men have not lost any of their last seven matches on home soil, winning five of them. Piksi will be without Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, Andrija Zivkovic and Ivan Ilic due to injury, while in-form striker Dusan Vlahovic has not been called up due to "family problems". All-time leading goalscorer Aleksandar Mitrovic, who play in Saudi Arabia, is expected to lead the line.

Switzerland are also without a victory after the first two rounds. They also played with Spain and Denmark, but lost both games, receiving six goals on these two games. Murat Yakin's men lost 4:1 to Spain and 2:0 to Denmark. As a result, they currently sit rock bottom in League A Group 4 without a single point. It is clear Yakin is feeling some pressure, as well as the players. That is why their next two fixtures against Serbia and Denmark this month are very important. However, the away form isn't at desired level - the Swiss national team have only won one of their last five away games. Yakin has additional worries as Ruben Vargas, Denis Zakaria and Becir Omeragic are ruled out through injury.

Serbia vs Switzerland Prediction:

The last mutual games between two national teams are remembered by the incidents. However, at the same time they were efficient too. Switzerland have beaten Serbia in both of their previous two meetings, winning a World Cup qualifier 2:1 in June 2018 and 3:2 in the group stage at the 2022 World Cup. I expect something similar in Leskovac, but only about the goals. Both teams started the campaign in poor way, so they will look for a victory. That is why I think both teams will score.

Serbia vs Switzerland Pick: Both teams to Score - Yes @ 1.95 with Pinnacle
