Verona

It is a pity that they lose to Sampdoria in last game with one goal lead in the beginning. Now they are the ninth in the table of the League with 41 points. In addition, they do not play well as host in recent games, which have got a three-match losing streak without any scoring goal.

Fiorentina

They suffer a two-match losing streak, which makes them down to the sixteenth in League table. The most important thing for them at present is to avoid relegation. But they do not play well as guest, getting 2W-4D-9L in away games this season.

Verdict:

Both of them are not in form. Verona get 3W-3D-4L from Fiorentina in the past. And they draw with each other in past 2 head-to-head clashes. So the result of the game is suggested to be a draw.

Verona VS Fiorentina

Prediction: draw

Roma vs Atalanta Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Roma:
Lopez; Mancini, Cristante, Ibanez; Karsdorp, Villar, Veretout, Peres; Pellegrini, Mkhitaryan; Mayoral

Atalanta :
Gollini; Toloi, Romero, Djimsiti; Maehle, De Roon, Freuler, Gosens; Malinovskyi; Muriel, Zapata

Roma welcome Atalanta in one of the most interesting games of Serie A round 32. The guests are in better form, but Roma have the home advantage, so I expect an interesting clash. The Giallorossi are in poor form at the moment, they have suffered three defeats on the last five league matches. Roma lost to Parma, Napoli and Torino, shared the points with Sassuolo, while only managed to beat Bologna. The atmosphere in the squad is far from ideal. I think the crisis started after ex-captain Edin Dzeko publicly attacked coach Paulo Fonseca for wrong tactic after the derby loss to Lazio. The Bosnian international was under fire and lost his starting spot and captain's armband, but the club was the biggest victim. Roma now trail fourth-placed Juventus by eight points with seven games to play and Champions League spots look far away. Nevertheless, the Capital outfit are very successful in UEFA Europa League. They managed to eliminate Portuguese side Braga, Shakhtar Donetsk from Ukraine and the Dutch Giants Ajax Amsterdam. Coach Paulo Fonseca is under big pressure and he needs success in Europe more than anything The Portuguese tactician has some injury and suspension issues ahead of this match. Leonardo Spinazzola suffered a muscle injury against Ajax and won't play. Chris Smalling and Stephan El Shaarawy are both sidelined due to thigh injuries, while Marash Kumbulla and Nicolo Zaniolo will miss the remainder of the season. Midfielder Amadou Diawara must serve a ban following the red card in the defeat against Torino. In addition, Pedro is doubtful after sustained a thigh problem on Sunday and will be assessed on Thursday.

Atalanta are in fantastic form at the moment. They are in series of five victories in Serie A. Coach Gian Piero Gasperini's men managed to beat Spezia, Verona, Udinese, Fiorentina and Juventus last weekend. The narrow 1:0 victory over the reigning champions pleased the fans. Ruslan Malinovsky's deflected shot in the 86thminute flew past a wrong-footed Szczesny and secured three points for Atalanta. They leapfrog Juventus into third place in Serie A, while second-placed Milan have two more. The truth is that Juve played without the injured Cristiano Ronaldo, but the victory must be respected. Atalanta were the more dangerous side and had more opportunities during the whole match. La Dea won their first home game against Juventus in the last 20 years. The atmosphere in the squad is excellent, while the players confidence is high. Gasperini said he is proud of Atalanta after their ‘deserved’ win over Juventus and explains he won the tactical battle against Pirlo with his decision to switch to a 4-2-3-1 system. Most of the players are ready for this match, including Cristian Romero who returns from suspension. He could come straight back in for Jose Luis Palomino in a three-man defense. Mr Gasperini has almost all players available for this match, only the wing-back Hans Hateboer is sidelined. The Dutch international has return to training after a month out due to injury, but isn't ready to feature yet. Key strikers Luis Muriel (18 goals) and Duvan Zapata (13) will probably start in attack. The Slovenian international Josip Ilicic will start from the bench, but is expected to come during the second half.

Roma vs Atalanta Prediction:

I expect an efficient match at Stadio Olimpico. The hosts need three points to remain competitive with top teams on the table. I know the Europa League have priority, but I am sure Fonseca will like to impress against Atalanta. He was heavily criticized for his inability to secure positive results against the top-4 rivals. Atalanta will also play attacking, they don't know any different style. Five of the last six mutual games have finished with Over 2.5 goals, so I think we will see another high scoring match.
