Wolverhampton will try to put an end to their winless run when they welcome Arsenal to Molineux on Tuesday. The Wolves have 23 points and sit on the 14th place, Overall, they have 6 victories and 10 defeats so far in the Premier League, plus five draws. The current form is poor, they have three defeats on the last four league matches. One point from a possible 12 is a huge disappointment. Wolverhampton remained unbeaten at Stamford Bridge playing a goalless draw with Chelsea, but that's the only positive result in the last period. The Wolves suffered defeats on the other three matches, losing to Everton, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace on Saturday. The match at Selhurst Park was decided in the 60th minute when Eberechi Eze found the back of the net to secure a 1:0 win. That was Palace's first shot on target. Previously, Willian Jose, who had the first start for Wolves since joining on loan from La liga side Real Sociedad, was twice denied by the Eagles goalkeeper Vicente Guaita. Wolves are now without a goal in two games and manager Nuno Espirito Santo is feeling a huge pressure. The fans have enjoyed some memorable moments under the Portuguese coach, but few more bad results could open some questions about his job. Nuno's men have won once in 11 league matches since losing talisman striker Raul Jimenez to a serious injury. Jimenez suffered a severe head injury in the reverse fixture against Arsenal at the Emirats in November. The 18-year-old striker Silva, the club record £35.6m summer signing from Porto, is not at desired level and that's a big problem. Nuno has some additional issues as defenders Marcal, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Romain Saiss are struggling with injuries. Ruben Neves could get a day off after the birth of his child.
Arsenal are currently on the 10th place with 31 points, but a possible victory here could see them climbing higher, even to the 6th place. The Gunners are in good form, they have five victories and two draws on the last seven matches in the Premier League. After a series of poor results, they beat tittle pretenders Chelsea with 3:1. In the next two matches they obtained two victories, 1:0 against Brighton and 4:0 against West Bromwich. The draw with Crystal Palace saw them dropping two points, but then continued with victories. The next two victims were Newcastle and Southampton. Last weekend the Gunners played a a goalless draw with Manchester United. Having on mind Arteta was without the key player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the result should be evaluated as good. Both teams missed some good opportunities, particularly Cavani. However, that was the fourth consecutive home clean sheet in all competitions for Arsenal. The atmosphere in the squad is positive, while the players confidence is high. The situation with Aubameyang is complicated. The 31-year-old Gabonese international has missed the Gunners' past three matches because his mother has been in ill health. Gunners boss Arteta said he is unsure if Aubameyang will be available for this match as he is still in quarantine. The club are working with the government regarding his eventual return to action, but this match will likely come too soon for him. Bukayo Saka, who skipped the weekend's derby as a precautionary measure, is expected to return to the starting eleven, while Kieran Tierney and Dani Ceballos are also in contention after recovering from their calf problems. Dani Ceballos and Pablo Mari are rated as doubtful. The loan acquisition from Real Madrid, Martin Odegaard could make his first start for the club. The Norwegian talent took part in the derby with Manchester United, but failed to impress.
Wolverhampton vs Arsenal Prediction:
Arsenal have kept a clean sheet in three of their last five matches in the Premier League. At the same time they had problem to score against Manchester United for the weekend. Arteta will probably be again without key striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Wolverhampton, meanwhile, haven't scored on the last two league matches. I expect a tight match without goals on both sides.
