Man Utd vs Southampton

One of the most exciting games of the week

Man Utd needs to get back on their feet at once if they want to keep contending for the title. Southampton, as challenging as they are, could not make it into any points against the big teams such as Leicester, Arsenal or Manchester City. The last Aston Villa defeat kept them on their downward spiral as the Lions made a solid step against one of their rivals over the Europa League ticket. I don’t see any reason for a point-craving Manchester United not to take advantage from the unfit Southampton. It is no secret that Manchester struggled their home games however I don’t think they can let this trend keep on if they really desire the title. I expect goals and I expect a win, 3-1 for Manchester Utd. this week.

Wolverhampton vs Arsenal

If you are looking for a booster for your slip this might be it

Wolves still have not got themselves out of the swamp they are in, playing a home game with Arsenal isn’t the best chance to make a step forward. It will be a hard one indeed however they at least know how to contain big teams out of their cage. Winless in eight league fixtures, Wolverhampton just might be about to keep their trend. Gunners on the other side, even if they don’t win they always know how to put up a good fight. Thanks to David Luiz extraordinary leadership in the defensive performance, Arsenal has been a tough cookie for the greatest, conceded only one goal in the second halves of the away games. Once they score, there is near to nil chance to score against Arsenal. Two teams have the lowest average goals per match along with Sheffield and Burley. I think this game will highlight this stat. A second half score and a narrow win for Arsenal 0-1.

Sheffield United vs West Bromwich Albion

There is always hope

I am sure we are going to see 2 teams fully studied and 100% for this game as it might determine whether these two teams will carry on their journey on the Premier League. Sheffield has made everybody talk about them after that grand victory over Manchester United and consolidated their confidence in themselves, making 6 points in last 5 matches. West Bromwich on the other side has been giving great loopholes on their defensive side and have conceded 15 goals in 5 games. Sheffield proved a better defence against the title contenders by just conceding 1 goal in two of their toughest games this season against the Manchester teams. If Sheffield forgets their past and keeps this trend as a real improvement on their side I think they really have a chance to turn this one into a victory.

Newcastle vs Crystal Palace

Dead draw

We have two teams struggling to achieve more than they have been giving their fans for the last 5 weeks. Crystal Palace’s Sheffield and Wolverhampton wins does not impress me and Newcastle’s last Everton victory did not come out of a genuine study. These teams are hardly hanging on to their places and there is not much time they watch their contenders lifting off before their eyes.

Wolverhampton vs Arsenal Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Wolverhampton:
Patricio; Coady, Boly, Kilman; Hoever, Moutinho, Dendoncker, Semedo; Traore, Jose, Neto

Arsenal:
Leno; Cedric, Holding, Luiz, Tierney; Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Odegaard, Pepe; Lacazette

Wolverhampton will try to put an end to their winless run when they welcome Arsenal to Molineux on Tuesday. The Wolves have 23 points and sit on the 14th place, Overall, they have 6 victories and 10 defeats so far in the Premier League, plus five draws. The current form is poor, they have three defeats on the last four league matches. One point from a possible 12 is a huge disappointment. Wolverhampton remained unbeaten at Stamford Bridge playing a goalless draw with Chelsea, but that's the only positive result in the last period. The Wolves suffered defeats on the other three matches, losing to Everton, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace on Saturday. The match at Selhurst Park was decided in the 60th minute when Eberechi Eze found the back of the net to secure a 1:0 win. That was Palace's first shot on target. Previously, Willian Jose, who had the first start for Wolves since joining on loan from La liga side Real Sociedad, was twice denied by the Eagles goalkeeper Vicente Guaita. Wolves are now without a goal in two games and manager Nuno Espirito Santo is feeling a huge pressure. The fans have enjoyed some memorable moments under the Portuguese coach, but few more bad results could open some questions about his job. Nuno's men have won once in 11 league matches since losing talisman striker Raul Jimenez to a serious injury. Jimenez suffered a severe head injury in the reverse fixture against Arsenal at the Emirats in November. The 18-year-old striker Silva, the club record £35.6m summer signing from Porto, is not at desired level and that's a big problem. Nuno has some additional issues as defenders Marcal, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Romain Saiss are struggling with injuries. Ruben Neves could get a day off after the birth of his child.

Arsenal are currently on the 10th place with 31 points, but a possible victory here could see them climbing higher, even to the 6th place. The Gunners are in good form, they have five victories and two draws on the last seven matches in the Premier League. After a series of poor results, they beat tittle pretenders Chelsea with 3:1. In the next two matches they obtained two victories, 1:0 against Brighton and 4:0 against West Bromwich. The draw with Crystal Palace saw them dropping two points, but then continued with victories. The next two victims were Newcastle and Southampton. Last weekend the Gunners played a a goalless draw with Manchester United. Having on mind Arteta was without the key player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the result should be evaluated as good. Both teams missed some good opportunities, particularly Cavani. However, that was the fourth consecutive home clean sheet in all competitions for Arsenal. The atmosphere in the squad is positive, while the players confidence is high. The situation with Aubameyang is complicated. The 31-year-old Gabonese international has missed the Gunners' past three matches because his mother has been in ill health. Gunners boss Arteta said he is unsure if Aubameyang will be available for this match as he is still in quarantine. The club are working with the government regarding his eventual return to action, but this match will likely come too soon for him. Bukayo Saka, who skipped the weekend's derby as a precautionary measure, is expected to return to the starting eleven, while Kieran Tierney and Dani Ceballos are also in contention after recovering from their calf problems. Dani Ceballos and Pablo Mari are rated as doubtful. The loan acquisition from Real Madrid, Martin Odegaard could make his first start for the club. The Norwegian talent took part in the derby with Manchester United, but failed to impress.

Wolverhampton vs Arsenal Prediction:

Arsenal have kept a clean sheet in three of their last five matches in the Premier League. At the same time they had problem to score against Manchester United for the weekend. Arteta will probably be again without key striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Wolverhampton, meanwhile, haven't scored on the last two league matches. I expect a tight match without goals on both sides.

Wolverhampton vs Arsenal Pick: Both teams to score - No @ 1.89 with Pinnacle

Liverpool vs Brighton & Hove Albion Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Liverpool:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Henderson, Robertson; Thiago Alcantara, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Jones; Firmino, Salah

Brighton & Hove Albion:
Sanchez; White, Dunk, Webster; Veltman, Gross, Bissouma, March; Tau, Trossard; Maupay

Liverpool are set to play Brighton & Howe Albion at Anfield on Wednesday night as the Reds are looking for the third win in a row. The reigning champions were in big crisis during January. They started the month with a narrow 1:0 loss to Southampton at St Mary's. The former Reds striker Danny Ings scored the winning goal. In the next match Liverpool played a goalless draw with Manchester United at Anfield. Klopp should be happy with the draw as Cavani and Bruno Fernandes have missed two clear opportunities. The next match was another disappointment as Liverpool lost at home to Burnley. The 68-game unbeaten home league run come to an end. It is hard to believe, but Liverpool have not scored at Anfield so far this calendar year and they now risk going three home league matches in a row without netting for the first time since October 1984. The FA Cup was not an exception, Liverpool suffered elimination after they lost to Manchester United in the fourth round. However, the poor series ended last Thursday when the reigning champions showed their class and beat Tottenham with 3:1. The goals were scored by Firmino, Alexander-Arnold and Mane. On Sunday Liverpool traveled again to London, this time against West Ham. And they won again with the same result. Mohamed Salah scored two goals, while Wijnaldum added the third. Salah became the first Liverpool player since Ian Rush to reach the 20-goal mark in four successive seasons. The last day of the transfer window was very busy for the Reds. They signed centre-backs Ben Davies from Preston and Ozan Kabak from Schalke. The later came on loan until the end of the season. Liverpool have paid an initial £1million loan fee with the option to buy for £18m at the end of the season. It was expected move from Klopp as all three central defenders (Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip) are long-term absentees, while Fabinho is also injured at the moment. However, I don't expect Kabak or Davies to be in the starting eleven for this match. The reason is because inexperienced Nat Phillips impressed against the Hammers. The injury situation in other areas is also complicated. Sadio Mane, who missed out against West Ham due to a muscle problem, will probably skip this match too. Diogo Jota shouldn’t be expected back until mid-February at the earliest. James Milner is rated as doubtful due to a hamstring injury, while Naby Keita remains sidelined.

Brighton are just outside the drop zone, on the 17th place. The situation was almost critical two weeks ago and manager Graham Potter was feeling big pressure, as well as the players. But the last results were fantastic, they have collected seven points on the last three matches. First they beat Leeds United with 1:0. Neal Maupay scored the winning goal in the 17th minute that ended Brighton's run of nine league games without a victory. Maupay became just the second player to score 10 or more Premier League away goals for Brighton after Glenn Murray. By the way, Murray will play for Nottingham Forest for the rest of the season after two sides agreed the loan deal for the 37-year-old striker. In the next game the Seagulls played a goalless draw wih Fulham at home. It was a tight match between two relegation candidates in which the Seagulls have registered the 9th draw of the season. Finally, Brighton made a big surprise in the last round by beating Tottenham on Sunday night. Once again they won 1:0 an once again netted in the 17th minute. Leandro Trossard scored the lone goal to earn the first home league victory for his team in the season. Last time they secured three points at Amex Stadium was 225 days ago when beat Arsenal in June 2020. Pascal Gross should also be mentioned as he registered the 18th assist in the Premier League. Only three German players have more assists in England top flight football - Mesut Ozil (54), Leroy Sane (28) and Dietmar Hamann (22). Gross could go higher on the list if he continues that way. Nevertheless, something else should be mentioned - Brighton have kept the net untouched on the last three matches in the Premier League. This fact must be respected. Graham Potter has most of his key players available, but Danny Welbeck is rated as doubtful due to a knee injury. At the end I will mention that Brighton signed Moises Caicedo from Ecuadorian side Independiente del Valle. The 19-year-old midfielder has signed a four-year contract for £4m. Caicedo made his first senior appearance for the club in October 2019. He has a debut for the national team a year later in a 1:0 World Cup qualification defeat by Argentina. Four days later, he scored his first international goal in a 4:2 win over Uruguay.

Liverpool vs Brighton & Hove Albion Prediction:

I don't expect more than three goals at Anfield. It is true Liverpool scored six goals on the last two matches against Tottenham and West Ham, but they didn't play "catenaccio". Brighton are in good form, they have two victories and one draw on the last three league games. Even more, the Seagulls haven't conceded a single goal on those three matches. The players confidence is very high and this fact should not be underestimated. Liverpool have problem when play against defensive-oriented teams. The Reds haven't scored a single goal on the last two home fixtures.

Liverpool vs Brighton & Hove Albion Pick:
Under 3.5 goals @ 1.54 with 10bet

Burnley

It is out of expectation that they defeat Liverpool at 1-0, which seems that they are getting well. Now they are the fifteenth in the table of the League with 22 points, far away from relegation.

Manchester City

They have a twelve-match winning streak recently. Now they are the top of the table in the League even if they play one less game than others. There is no weakness of them. They have scored 37 goals and conceded only 13 goals. They are the favourites to win the champion.

Verdict:

The Asian handicap first odd is Manchester City -1.75. Manchester City take the upper hand over Burnley in every aspect. There is no doubt that Manchester City are going to win.

Tottenham vs Chelsea Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Tottenham:
Lloris; Alderweireld, Dier, Rodon; Doherty, Hojbjerg, Sissoko, Davies; Bergwijn, Vinicius, Son

Chelsea:
Mendy; Azpilicueta, Silva, Rudiger; Hudson-Odoi, Kovacic, Kante, Alonso; Pulisic, Werner; Giroud

Tottenham welcome Chelsea in the derby of the round. Both teams are currently sharing the sixth place with 33 points, but Tottenham have a match in hand. Both teams are six points away from the Champions League spots. Tottenham fans were expecting their team to fight for the first place, but right now it looks like "mission impossible" as Manchester City have 11 points more. It is clear the 60-year wait for title will continue. What is worse, the Spurs are in poor form at the moment. They are in mini series of two defeats. First they suffered a 3:1 home loss to Liverpool last Thursday. It was a strange game in which all three goals came after huge mistakes. Joe Rodon was caught out of position for Liverpool's first goal, scored by Firmino, while Eric Dier and captain Hugo Lloris failed to clear the danger too. Lloris was at fault for Liverpool's second goal, while Rodon made another mistake in the 65th minute. But there is more, according to the Telegraph. The Portuguese coach blamed right-back Serge Aurier for the first goal. Mourinho decided to substitute him in a double change - something that 'infuriated' the player. Aurier responded by storming out of the stadium at half-time and not staying to watch the second half. It is clear the atmosphere in the squad is far from ideal. Worst of all, key man Harry Kane has suffered injuries on both ankles. His absence is a big handicap, Kane is simply irreplaceable. The Spurs then suffered another defeat. They lost 1:0 to Brighton at Amex Stadium on Sunday. Tottenham have won just three of their past 13 Premier League games in which Harry Kane has not featured, losing six in the process. Kane will be sidelined for another couple of weeks, while Sergio Reguilon and Giovani Lo Celso are also out of this match. Tanguy Ndombele was forced off through injury against Brighton and is rated as doubtful for this one. The involvement of Serge Aurier and Dele Alli in this match is quite uncertain.

Chelsea are between the teams fighting for the top 4 and this match is very important for their ambitions. The Blues were inconsistent in the first part of the season and Frank Lampard paid the prize. The former captain was sacked after 18-month spell in charge, while Thomas Tuchel replaced him as head coach. The German won back-to-back Ligue 1 titles with Paris Saint-Germain, while previously managed Borussia Dortmund in Bundesliga. Tuchel had signed an 18-month contract with the possibility of an extension. His first match was against Wolverhampton last week. The Blues had almost 80% possession and completed 820 passes against Wolves - the highest totals by a team in their manager's first Premier League game in charge. However, they failed to score and Tuchel's debut wasn't according to the expectations. The second match was much better for the German coach as his Chelsea won 2:0 against Burnley. Captain Cesar Azpilicueta scored the opener just before half-time, while his fellow Spanish defender Alonso added a classy second late on, skillfully controlling a Pulisic cross before lashing a volley. It is also important to be mentioned that Chelsea comfortably registered two clean sheets under Tuchel. Wolverhampton and Burnley did not manage a shot on target. Tuchel is the first Chelsea manager to keep a clean sheet in each of his first two games in the Premier League since Rafa Benitez in 2012. Strong defense could be a solid base for the better results in the future. The German coach has no important missing players. Hakim Ziyech should be available, his absence against Burnley was only because he needed a rest. N'Golo Kante has fully recovered from a hamstring injury and could earn a start in midfield. Kai Havertz and Kurt Zouma missed part of Wednesday's training and both are rated as doubtful, though neither were expected to start.

Tottenham vs Chelsea Prediction:

Chelsea won twice against Tottenham last season, 2:1 at Stamford Bridge and 2:0 at new White Hart Lane. Given their current performances, the Blues are favorites again. The Spurs are in awful form, they lost the previous two matches. Even worse, their key star Harry Kane is out injured. Chelsea and new boss Tuchel should take advantage from Tottenham issues.

Tottenham vs Chelsea Pick:
Chelsea to win @ 2.16 with Pinnacle

⚽🔥Tottenham vs Chelsea🔥⚽

Can you lead an army to victory without it’s general?

Harry Keane’s injury costed Tottenham more than anticipated in the last Brighton game, even when they have conceded a 1st half goal, they lacked to show the finishing skills on the offense. There is nothing more concerning for Mourinho than the set up of his offences for this game. We know he proves his genius in such challenges but it will not be easy against the full-squad Chelsea, especially when Tuchel is also trying to make the fans forget Lampard and instigate his new authority on the team. I believe Tottenham took their lessons on the Brighton game but a Chelsea victory is too soon for glory for them. Chelsea will work their best to take Tottenham's standing. This will end in a Chelsea win, I don’t see many ways out for Tottenham.
