Arsenal vs Aston Villa Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Arsenal:
Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tierney; Odegaard, Partey, Smith Rowe; Pepe, Lacazette, Aubameyang

Aston Villa:
Martinez; Konsa, Mings, Hause; Cash, Luiz, Sanson, McGinn, Targett; Watkins, Ings

Arsenal continue with home fixtures as they welcome Aston Villa at the Emirats on Friday night. The Gunners currently have 11 points and sit on the 12th place. They are in solid form, winning three of the last five matches and need to win this match to remain in touch with the European spots on the table. In the last round they shared the points with Crystal Palace playing a 2:2 draw. Arsenal started brightly and led deservedly through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after Guaita's diving save to deny Nicolas Pepe. But Palace improved and turned out the result thanks to goals scored by Benteke and Edouard. Both goals came after Arsenal midfielders lost the ball, first Partey and then Sambi Lokonga, who replace the injured Saka at the halftime. The Gunners escaped the defeat after Alexandre Lacazette scored deep into injury time, pouncing after Palace failed to clear a corner and Gabriel Martinelli's effort was saved. It was a disappointing result for Arsenal fans and manager Mikel Arteta. The Spaniard had some additional issues as two important players are sidelined with injuries. Granit Xhaka was already out injured, but Bukayo Saka was taken off at halftime against Crystal Palace after taking a nasty kick to the leg from James McArthur. I was surprised with the referee decision to punish him only with a yellow card.

Aston Villa are one place and one point behind Arsenal on the table. They have 10 points and a record of three victories, one draw and four defeats. The actual form is poor, Villa suffered two defeats on the last two matches. The defeats came after big victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford. The Villans first lost 2:1 to Tottenham and then 3:2 to Wolverhampton Wanderers. The last defeat in the West Midlands derby was very painful and ubusual. Goals by Danny Ings and John McGinn put Dean Smith's side 2:0 ahead at Villa Park. However, Romain Saiss, Conor Coady and Ruben Neves' deflected free kick - all in the final 10 minutes - saw the Wolves complete a remarkable turnaround. The joy of big victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford at the end of September have vanished and look like a distant memory. But something else should be mentioned - the last mutual results. Believe or not, Aston Villa won the last three games with Arsenal, scoring five goals in the process and keeping three clean sheets. South American duo Emiliano Martinez and Douglas Luiz played against Wolves despite returning late from international duty. Matty Cash was forced off with a dead leg and he is rated as doubtful for the Emirates trip. Doubts persist over Leon Bailey and Bertrand Traore, while Morgan Sanson has returned to fitness and should be ready. Ings and Watkins will probably lead the line.

Arsenal vs Aston Villa Prediction:

I expect both teams to score at the Emirats. Arsenal fans haven't forgotten the last season's humiliation when Aston Villa won 3:0 in London. The return fixture was more one-sided, but Arsenal still lost that one too. Nevertheless, many things have been changed in the meantime, starting from the fact that key player Jack Grealish left Villa. Arteta need to deliver victory as soon as possible, so he will ask offensive from his players. I expect an open game with goals on both sides.

Arsenal vs Aston Villa Pick: Both teams to score - Yes @ 1.75 with Bet365

Of course Aston villa entering the game as a underdogs, but to be honest Arsenal are still unpredictable. Emi Martinez and Douglas Luiz both are fit which is great , Saka and Tierney are doubtful. After Villa threw away a two-goal lead last weekend, best possible pick would be Over 2.5 goals.

I have great doubts about the outcome of this match, but I will assume that Arsenal (despite the injuries of Bukayo Saka and Granit Xhaka) will not lose in the end 1X and the total of the match is over 2.5
The defense of both teams is far from ideal, so I expect a lot of goals.

Chelsea

Chelsea got consecutive 3 wins both on UEFA Champions League and premier League, being in good forms. On group stage of UEFA Champions League, they beat Malmo FF with 4:0 easily, but to be mentioned, Lukaku R. and Werner T. were injured in this game and they will be absent in this round against Norwich City.

Norwich City

Norwich City have been back to Premier League as a newly-promoted team, but they still could not get a win after 8 rounds, only getting 2 points. Although they didn’t concede any single goal in recent games, their offensive sides are still tiring. Now they are in low morale.

Betting Verdict:

Chelsea took upper hand on overall strength and they will take the advantage of playing at home in this round. And their defensive sides are stable, while the odds are also good for them. So home win will be expected in this round.

Manchester United vs Liverpool Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Manchester United:
De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; McTominay, Pogba; Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford; Ronaldo

Liverool:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Jones; Salah, Firmino, Mane

Manchester United and Liverpool are the two most successful teams in England with a total of 121 trophies, 62 for Manchester United and 59 for the Merseysiders. Liverpool dominated the English football from 1975 to 1990, winning 11 league titles and four European Cups. Manchester United, meanwhile, have dominated during Ferguson's era, from 1993. In that period the Red Devils won 13 league championships and two European Cups. The overall H2H is on Manchester side. The two sides have met 207 times with United winning 81 of them, while Liverpool have 68 victories and 58 matches finished without winner. Counting only the league games, United have 68 wins, while Liverpool 58 (with 50 draws). But the last mutual results are on Liverpool side. The Reds have three victories and three draws on the last six mutual games played in the Premier League.

Manchester United are in awful form at the moment. They are winless in the last three Premier League fixtures, while the series culminated last weekend with a painful 4:2 defeat to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. That means the Red Devils have now taken just one point from the last nine on offer. They lost to Aston Villa and Leicester, while took draw against Everton. Not since October 2019 have Man United gone four games without a win in the top flight. Manchester United are now five points behind leaders Chelsea and a point outside the top-four. However, their ambitions of winning the title this season are far from over, despite their recent troubles. A good result in this match could completely change the whole landscape of Manchester United season so far. It is positive they beat Atalanta in the Champions League on Wednesday. Solskjaer's men were two goals down after the first half, but overturned the result and won 3:2 at the end. The atmosphere in the squad is much better now, but Solskjaer has some worries. Central defender Raphael Varane is out injured, while few more players are rated as doubtful - Marcus Rashford, Fred, Bruno Fernandes, Anthony Martial and Amad Diallo.

Lliverpool are second on the table, one point behind table-toppers Chelsea. The Blues have a relatively easy game with bottom-placed Norwich City, so it is clear Klopp must go for a victory here. But so far Liverpool have failed to register a victory in the derbies. The Reds played 1:1 with Chelsea and 2:2 with Manchester City. These results could not be evaluated as positive because of the fact they were both played at Anfield. However, Liverpool are in solid form at the moment. They won the last two matches across all competitions and the players confidence is higher. Last weekend Liverpool beat Watford with 5:0. Sadio Mane opened the result with his 100th Premier League's goal. Notably, Mane has become the third African player to reach 100 goals in the Premier League, after Didier Drogba and Mohamed Salah. He is also the third player to reach 100+ PL goals without netting a penalty, after Les Ferdinand (149) and Emile Heskey (110). Roberto Firmino should also be mentioned as he scored three goals. He became the first Brazilian player to have netted two hat-tricks in the Premier League. On Tuesday Liverpool beat 3:2 Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. Mohamed Salah continued to impress with yet another stunning solo effort at the Wanda Metropolitano. The Egypt international became the first player in the club's history to score in 9 consecutive appearances for Liverpool in all competitions. But Klopp has some issues too. Thiago Alcantara is expected to remain out of contention, Harvey Elliott is long-term injury victim, while Curtis Jones is rated as doubtful.

Manchester United vs Liverpool Prediction:

Liverpool are in better form, no doubt about that. Eight goals on the last two matches is something that should be respected. The Reds have scored at least two goals on the nine games in a row. However, I don't think they will conquer the full Old Trafford. Liverpool won the last season's fixture, but the circumstances were different - no fans at the stadium, the motivation completely on Liverpool side and tired United players due to the busy schedule. Now it is quite different, full stadium will be like United's 12th player. The one thing that Manchester United have been good at under Solskjaer is getting big results against the big teams. The Red Devils failed to register a victory on the last two home fixtures against Everton and Aston Villa, but this match is not similar as Klopp won't play "catenaccio".
