Liverpool will try to continue the winning series in the Premier League. They have all seven victories so far and sit first with 21 points. The Reds have won their first seven games of a league season for only the second time, after 1990/91. Jurgen Klopp's men also managed to beat two of the established big-six teams, Arsenal at Anfield and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The German manager is doing a fantastic job and the fans are satisfied. Last weekend the Merseysiders won 1:0 at Sheffield United thanks to a "lucky" Georginio Wijnaldum's goal. Liverpool were far from their best in South Yorkshire and benefited from the goalkeeper Dean Henderson's huge mistake. Just to mention, Wijnaldum's goal in the 70th minute was the Reds first shot on target in the match, the longest they have had to wait for a shot on target in the Premier League since December 2015. Liverpool obtained another victory during the midweek, against Salzburg in the Champions League. It was an incredible match as the Austrian outfit trailed 3:0 in the first half but battled back to 3:3 before Mohamed Salah grabbed the winner in the 69th minute. It was an important victory for Liverpool, but Klopp could not be satisfied as his defense showed lot of weaknesses. Some changes are possible, particularly because first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker and centre-back Joel Matip have recovered.
Leicester City will arrive at Anfield as third-placed team, just after Liverpool and Manchester City. The Foxes are the most pleasant surprise of the season and have just one defeat so far. According to the former Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher, "Leicester City could achieve something fantastic and quite easily finish inside the top four of the Premier League this season". Manager Brendon Rodgers, the former Liverpool boss, composed a good team. Only Liverpool (49) and Man City (43) have gained more points than the 31 Leicester have collected since the end of February, when Rodgers was appointed. The fans are hoping for Champions League spot, while some of them are dreaming about new title. As You probably know, Leicester City were surprise champions under Claudio Ranieri in the season 2015/16. Last weekend the Foxes destroyed Newcastle, winning 5:0 at King Power Stadium. Jamie Vardy was the key name on the match after scoring a brace. Since Rodgers' first match with Leicester City, Vardy has scored more Premier League goals (14) than any other player. Rodgers has the majority of his players ready for this match, including the midfielder James Maddison who missed the match withr Newcastle due to injury. However, Matty James and Daniel Amartey remain sidelined.
Liverpool vs Leicester City Prediction:
I expect both teams to score. Liverpool play at home and they will go for three points. Firmino, Mane and Salah are hungry for goals, it is almost impossible none of them to score. Mane will be particularly motivated as he is one Premier League goal away from 50 for Liverpool. Leicester City are also in good form, they netted five last weekend and the players confidence is high. Vardy like to play against the Reds, only two players (Andrew Cole and Thierry Henry) have scored more goals against Liverpool in the Premier League era.
