Southampton vs Manchester United Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Southampton:
Gunn; Valery, Bednarek, Vestergaard, Danso; Romeu, Hojbjerg; Ward-Prowse, Redmond; Adams, Ings

Manchester United:
De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Young, Pereira, McTominay, Pogba, Mata, Greenwood, Rashford

Southampton started the new season with two consecutive defeats. First they lost 3:0 at Burnley, while in the second round suffered a narrow 2:1 defeat to Liverpool at St Mary. It was a big relief when they won 2:0 at Brighton last weekend. Moussa Djenepo opened the result with his first goal in the Premier League, moments after he came on as a substitute. He scored the goal with his first touch in the game and just 78 seconds after coming on as a second-half substitute. Nathan Redmond secured the victory with his late goal. Danny Ings should also be mentioned - the former Liverpool player has been directly involved in three goals in his last four Premier League games (scored one and assisted two). Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl was satisfied with the performances of his players, but also with the result. The positive series continued during the midweek as Southampton beat Fulham with 1:0 in the EFL Cup. Teenager Michael Obafemi scored the winner and earned his side a place in the third round. The 19-year-old scored the second senior goal of his career. The Austrian coach has most of his players available for this match. Nathan Redmond suffered an ankle injury against Fulham on Tuesday and is rated as doubtful. Sofiane Boufal is expected to deputize if he doesn't recover in time for this game.

It looks like to be another inconsistent season for Manchester United. In the first round they were fantastic obtaining a high 4:0 victory against Chelsea. The fans were pleased by the excellent performance of Ole Gunar Solskjaer's men. Marcus Rashford was a double scorer, while Anthony Martial and Daniel James netted the remaining two goals. In the second round United dropped two points at Wolverhampton as they played an 1:1 draw. Anthony Martial was the scorer on that match, while Paul Pogba missed a penalty. Last weekend Manchester suffered a painful home defeat to Crystal Palace. The Eagles won 2:1, while the goal for the hosts was scored by youngster Daniel James in the finish of the match. He become the seventh United player to score in his first two Premier League appearances at Old Trafford for the club. Nevertheless, it was a disappointing performance by United players - their first shot on target was recorded in the 68th minute. In addition, Rashford missed the penalty in the second half. Solskjaer has some injury issues ahead of this match. He is facing a problem at left-back position as Luke Shaw suffered a hamstring problem against Palace, while Diogo Dalot is already sidelined. It means either Ashley Young or Marcos Rojo could start on the left flank. Eric Bailly remains long-term absentee. Alexis Sanchez has joined Serie A club Inter Milan after a loan deal is agreed between the clubs.

Southampton vs Manchester United Prediction
:

I expect both teams to score at St Mary's. Southampton have improved since the opening two defeats and won against Brighton and Fulham. Manchester United are in some kind of crisis, however they scored on each of the first three matches in the new season. In addition, the recent mutual games between Southampton and Manchester United were highly efficient - a total of nine goals were scored on two matches played last season. The Red Devils won 3:2 at Old Trafford, while the reverse fixture finished with a 2:2 draw.

Southampton vs Manchester United Pick: Both teams to score - Yes @ 1.75 with 1XBet

Chelsea vs Sheffield United Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Chelsea:
Kepa, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Zouma, Emerson; Barkley, Jorginho, Kovacic; Mount, Abraham, Pulisic.

Sheffield United:
Henderson; Basham, Egan, O'Connell; Baldock, Lundstram, Norwood, Freeman, Stevens; McGoldrick, Robinson

Chelsea started the new season poorly. In the first match they suffered a heavy 4:0 defeat to Manchester United, then lost UEFA Super Cup final from Liverpool and after that dropped two points playing an 1:1 draw with Leicester City at Stamford Bridge in the second round of the Premier League. New manager Lampard faced a difficult job to build a new team without key player Eden Hazard, who joined Real Madrid. The atmosphere in the squad was improved after the last weekend's 3:2 victory over Norwich. Tammy Abraham was the key player after scoring a brace, while Mason Mount netted the remaining goal. With 21 years and 326 days, Abraham is the third youngest player to score a brace in the Premier League for Chelsea, after Mark Nicholls in 1998 and Eddie Newton in 1992. I believe the players confidence is now higher. Lampard has some injury worries ahead of this match. Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Antonio Rudiger remain sidelined due to injuries. Pedro and Mason Mount, who both suffered muscle injuries last weekend, are rated as doubtful. Lampard's biggest worry is N'Golo Kante. The French midfielder has struggled with injury since the end of last season and remain a doubt. Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud are battling for one place in attack, though it is almost certain that Abraham has advantage after scoring two goals on the last match.

Sheffield United have a balanced record of one victory, one draw and one defeat in the first three rounds. They started with an 1:1 draw against Bournemouth. One point from that match could be rated as a good result, particularly knowing the point was earned away from home. Billy Sharp was the hero on that match after scored the equalizer in the 88th minute. It is worth mentioning that Sheffield United started the match only with British and Irish players. In the second round they were excellent, obtaining their first top-flight victory against Crystal Palace thanks to John Lundstram's early second-half goal. The fans were satisfied with the performance of their players. Manager Chris Wilder is doing a great job. Since the start of the 2016/17 season, he has won 77 league matches as Sheffield United boss - only Pep Guardiola, with 88 victories, has won more in that time among managers in England's top four divisions. Nevertheless, the Blades suffered the defeat in the third round. They couldn't find an attacking rhythm and lost 2:1 to Leicester City. Oliver McBurnie scored his first goal for the club after coming off the bench. Wilder has most of his players available for this match, only Kean Bryan is out injured. He was substituted after just 24 minutes in the midweek's victory over Blackburn in the Carabao Cup. John Fleck didn't play on that match in order to recover from injury in time for this fixture.

Chelsea vs Sheffield United Prediction:

I expect at least three goals at Stamford Bridge. The key reason for my pick is connect with the hosts. The Blues have scored three goals against Norwich and the players confidence is higher. Lampard's men must go for another victory, they will strongly attack from the very first minute. But Chelsea failed to keep clean sheet on four competitive matches so far across all competitions. It is clear they have defensive issues and the guests could take advantage from that fact. I expect more than two goals in this match.

Chelsea vs Sheffield United Pick: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.75 with 1XBet

thanks for the detail analysis, i'm on a victory for manchester united and also Chelsea. if you take away the recent racial issues faced by Pogba and Rashford, they are still a very good side (even after losing two key player - Lukaku and Sanchez). The blues on the other hand are at home and this game against Sheffield United is a chance for them to keep an eye on top 3 position especially considering the game between Arsenal and Spurs which I see a high probability draw.

Agree about Chelsea, but the odds are too low. This is the main reason why I took Over 2.5 goals.

About Manchester United, I am not sure they will win. The last round's defeat from Palace surely have some negative impact. Southampton have the home advantage and they improved the form. However, if Manchester played well, they are surely able to win at St Mary.

Burnley vs Liverpool Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Burnley:
Pope; Lowton, Mee, Tarkowski, Pieters; Lennon, Cork, Westwood, McNeil; Barnes, Wood

Liverpool:
Adrian; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum; Mane, Firmino, Salah

Burnley have one win, one draw and one loss after the first three rounds of the Premier League. They managed to beat Southampton with 3:0 in the first round. It was their biggest opening day league victory since 1966 with three goals in 12 impressive second-half minutes. Striker Ashley Barnes scored the first two goals, while midfielder Johann Berg Gudmundsson added a third from a tight angle. In the second round Burnley suffered a narrow 2:1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirats. The Clarets weren't bad on that match, even had a draw after Ashley Barnes equalized in the 43rd minute, but conceded a second-half goal from Aubameyang. In the third round Burnley shared the points with Wolverhampton playing an 1:1 draw. It is not very hard to guess who scored the goal - Ashley Barnes. Only two players have scored more Premier League goals than Barnes (13) in 2019 - Sergio Aguero (16) and Sadio Mane (15). He is in fantastic form and it will be interesting to see his performance against Liverpool's defense lead by Virgil van Dijk. Manager Sean Dyche has three injury worries ahead of this match as Robbie Brady and Steven Defour remain sidelined. They are not expected to be available next two weeks. Gudmundsson is rated as doubtful. On-loan midfielder Danny Drinkwater is looking for a starting place.

Liverpool have a perfect start to the new season. In the first round they won 4:1 against the newcomers Norwich City. Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Divock Origi and an own-goal from Grant Hanley were enough for Jurgen Klopp's men to recorded their first victory. But not everything was bright on that match. Regular keeper Alisson Becker suffered a calf injury that will leave him out for three to six weeks. In the second round Liverpool beat Southampton with 2:1. The goals were scored by Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino. Finally, the Reds won 3:0 in the derby match against Arsenal. Jurgen Klopp's men deserved the points as Mohamed Salah scored twice to add to Joel Matip's first-half header. Liverpool have scored 22 headed goals in the Premier League since the start of last season, 7 more than any other club. In the meantime Liverpool fans were listening Champions League news. The reigning champions will face Napoli, Salzburg and Genk in the group stage. I think the fans could be satisfy with the opponents. For this match Klopp has three injury worries. He is still without Alisson, meaning Adrian will continue to deputize. Alisson's absence is a huge handicap and the key reason for my pick. Midfielder Naby Keita remains sidelined with a groin injury, while Nathaniel Clyne is long-term injury victim.

Burnley vs Liverpool Prediction:

I expect a tight match. Liverpool are big favorites and that's normal. The Merseysiders are currently on a 12-game winning run in the Premier League, counting the results from the previous season. But the club have never made it to 13 consecutive wins in the history. Liverpool showed some defensive issues on the last away match with Southampton and they were lucky to win as Danny Ings missed a colossal opportunity in the finish of the match. Don't forget Alisson is still out injured. Considering these facts, I expect Burnly to cover the handicap.

Manchester City vs Brighton Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Manchester City:
Ederson; Cancelo, Otamendi, Laporte, Zinchenko; De Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan; B. Silva, Aguero, Sterling

Brighton:
Ryan; Duffy, Dunk, Burn; Montoya, Stephens, Propper, March; Gross, Murray, Trossard

Manchester City have two victories and one draw after the first three weeks. Pep Guardiola's men managed to beat West Ham with 5:0 in the first round, but dropped two points against Tottenham in the second. The derby finished with a 2:2 draw after VAR decision overruled what looked to have been a late Gabriel Jesus' winner. However, Manchester City dominated the game and fully outplayed the Spurs. Last weekend City beat Bournemouth with 3:1. The Sky Blues were dominant with 74% possession and created plenty of chances. Sergio Aguero's brace and a customary Raheem Sterling strike wrapped up the points for the reigning champions. Aguero's second goal was his 400th career goal for club and national team, with 235 of those coming for City. Kevin De Bruyne should also be mentioned, he registered his 50th Premier League assist in his 123rd appearance, reaching the tally in the fewest number of matches in the competition's history. The atmosphere in the squad is excellent, while the players confidence is high. Some players are sidelined through injury, like Benjamin Mendy (knee), Leroy Sane (cruciate ligaments), John Stones (thigh) and Gabriel Jesus (hamstring). According to me, that's not a big problem as Guardiola has two good players for each position.

Brighton have one win, one draw and one defeat in the first three rounds. New manager Graham Potter, who replaced Chris Hughton, could be satisfy. The Seaguls managed to beat Watford with 3:0 in the first round. It started with Abdoulaye Doucoure's first-half own goal. Substitute Florin Andone, with virtually his first touch of the game, doubled their lead, while Neal Maupay, who signed during the summer transfer window for £20m, scored his debut goal. It was just second Brighton's victory on the opening day in a top-flight division. Previously they beat Wolverhampton in season 1980/81, drawing two and losing three of the remaining five games. In the second round Brighton shared the points with West Ham playing an 1:1 draw. Another summer signing - Leandro Trossard - scored the goal. The Belgian international scored in the first half too, only for his effort to be ruled out for offside on a VAR review. Last weekend Brighton suffered a 2:0 home defeat to Southampton. The main reason for the defeat is Florin Andone's red card. The Romanian was shown a straight red card on the half-hour mark and will miss the match at Etihad due to suspension. In addition, Jose Izquierdo, Yves Bissouma and Ezequiel Schelotto remain long-term injury victims.

Manchester City vs Brighton Prediction:

Manchester City are big favorites in this match. Pep Guardiola's men are class above the other teams in the Premier League. It is true they dropped two points against Tottenham, but it is also true the Spurs were completely outplayed on that match, scoring twice from their only two shots on target. City have won their last five matches against Brighton in all competitions, including all four league games in the previous two seasons. City and Brighton last met on the final day of last season, when the Citizens wrapped up the title with an emphatic 4:1 win as guests. I expect another high victory for Manchester City.

The first London derby is a fact this year and Arsenal are welcoming Tottenham to the Emirates. The two teams are coming off their first defeat in the league, with the Lakers losing 3-1 to Liverpool, while Tottenham lost unexpectedly to Newcastle 1-0. Both teams clearly want to compare these results to each other, but they all point to the point. It is preferable for both teams to score
