What Does Your Betting Space Look Like and Does It Affect Your Decisions?

Any betting location outside designated space indicates impulsive decision-making.

Bathroom, car, bed - all suboptimal environments.

Optimal: dedicated desk space, desktop computer, distraction-free.

Acceptable: consistent location with research capability.

Problematic: anywhere, anytime, phone-based.

Good hierarchy Oli.

Most of us fall in the "acceptable" category. Some of us in "problematic."

yeah im fully problematic... bet from literally anywhere... no boundaries no control...

Conor genuine question: would creating a dedicated betting space help?

Like only allowing yourself to bet from one specific spot?

probably... but would require discipline i dont have... easier to just bet from wherever...

Mate that's the whole point though.

The space creates the discipline for you.

External structure compensates for internal weakness.

If willpower insufficient, environmental design becomes critical.

Okay you guys are convincing me!

I'm going to try only betting from my desk at home!

See if it changes anything!

Good Princess. Try it for two weeks and report back.

I bet your decision quality improves measurably.

But it's always like that - you're sitting with your thoughts elsewhere, and the game is about to begin. If you've already remembered the bet, remember that it's for fun, not a way to make money. Good luck!

Circadian rhythm affects risk tolerance.

Evening hours: reduced impulse control, higher risk-seeking behavior.

Morning hours: better executive function, more conservative decisions.

That explains why my Saturday morning bets are better than Friday night bets.

I've tracked this. My ROI is 6.2% on bets placed before noon, 2.8% on bets placed after 8pm.

Time of day matters.
