I do not think betting has become impossible for non-professionals, but consistently finding an information advantage is much harder. Public data, injury news and basic statistical models are incorporated into prices very quickly.
A recreational bettor can still improve results through discipline: comparing odds, avoiding markets they do not understand and recording every bet. That may not create a professional-level edge, but it can prevent many of the mistakes that make casual betting unnecessarily expensive.
