The Bet That Taught You Something No Book or Forum Ever Did

Fade that's the trap closing in real time.

"Now you'll think you know something" applies to the lesson itself.

Learn the lesson, feel wise about learning it, become overconfident about your own self-awareness.

It's recursive.

She understood me completely. Which is perhaps the same thing.

Good thread.

Books give you frameworks. Bets give you the specific moment the framework fails.

You need both. But you cannot get the second from the first.

Oli putting a bow on it.

The thing connecting all these is that the lesson wasn't in the result.

Taffy won but learned his conviction was wrong.
Tony won but learned the process was what he valued.
Klaus won with a broken model and learned profit doesn't equal correctness.
Conor won sixty euro and it broke something open.
Prof won big and learned success was more dangerous than failure.

Winning didn't teach us what we expected winning to teach us.

Maybe that's the meta-lesson.

That might be the most valuable thing anyone gets out of here Princess.

Not tips. Not systems.

well...

probably would have started anyway...

but at least i'd have known what i was walking into...
