Near misses in slots are just too disappointing. Yes, I can relate to that. However, I think that the disappointment we feel is only because we believed that we will win in our next spin. I just read somewhere that near misses do not really indicate that you will win on the next round—that it is no less than a myth. I hope this one enlightens all other players, who like me, have also thought that a near miss is a sign that you will win w1th ease.

The more you get disappointed the more you lose sometimes, that's what I'm always keeping in my mind.
 
When it comes to slot game, it's just the two things you lose and win, but you can lessen your losing streak by controlling your process in gaming like when to stop and when to play again.
 
A near miss like that can actually make you want to play faster. It gives the feeling that winning money is eminent, but each slot spin is completely independent of it's previous spin. Slots do not "know" what happened before, and therefore there is no greater chance of winning money after a near miss as there was when you first started gambling on it. Regardless the player almost always continues to play more aggressively after the heart shaking feeling of almost getting a jackpot or a huge win. This then goes in one of two ways. Either the player gets lucky and actually does win (unlikely), in which case he/she will repeat this behavior, or they lose (more common).

The solution to not falling victim to this psychological pitfall on slots is by the same way you could win sitting at the poker table, with a cool head and a straight face. ;)
