Chelsea vs Sheffield United Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Chelsea:
Mendy; James, Silva, Zouma, Chilwell; Jorginho, Kante; Ziyech, Mount, Werner; Abraham

Sheffield United:
Ramsdale; Basham, Egan, Stevens; Baldock, Berge, Norwood, Osborn, Lowe; McBurnie, Brewster

Chelsea will host Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge, looking to continue the winning series. The Blues have picked up two victories in the Champions League and one in the Premier League. Manager Frank Lampard, who was under big pressure after the club owner Roman Abramovich spent more than 250m Eur for new players this summer, is now enjoying the moment. Chelsea managed to beat Russian side FK Krasnodar with 4:0, then Burnley with 3:0 and French outfit Rennes with 3:0. As You could see, the Blues have scored 10 goals on the last three matches, while kept the net untouched. Timo Werner is in excellent form, he was involved in four goals in his last three Premier League games, scoring three and setting up one. New goalkeeper Mendy should also be mentioned, he is very good and nobody is mentioning Kepa anymore. He is looking to become only the fourth keeper in Premier League history to keep clean sheets in each of his first four starts in the competition, after Alex Manninger, Pepe Reina and Anders Lindegaard. But Lampard has some worries ahead of this match. He is without Kai Havertz after he tested positive for coronavirus ahead of Wednesday's Champions League game with Rennes. Christian Pulisic is rated as doubtful after pulling out of last weekend's Burnley game in the warm-up. Billy Gilmour remain sidelined.

Sheffield United are sharing the bottom place with Burnley, having collected just one point so far. The Blades had an awful start of the season. They lost first four league matches against Wolverhampton, Aston Villa, Leeds and Arsenal. In the fifth round Sheffield finally registered a positive result, drawing 1:1 with Fulham after Billy Sharp scored a late penalty to earn his team the first point of the season. In the next two matches they suffered another two defeats. The Blades impressed at Anfield, had an one-goal advantage and produced lot of problems to the reigning champions. However, they conceded twice and lost the match. Last weekend they lost 1:0 to Manchester City. It was another tough match against one of the strongest sides in the Premier League. But the hard schedule continues, Chelsea are the next opponents. The Blades could easily remain winless in their first 8 league games for the first time since 1990/91 season. Manager Chris Wilder is under big pressure, as well as the players. Just to mention, the Blades were fighting for UEFA Europe League spot last season. Wilder will be will be without Ethan Ampadu as he is ineligible to face his parent club. Jack O'Connell, John Fleck and Lys Mousset are all sidelined through injuries.

Chelsea vs Sheffield United Prediction:

Chelsea are huge favorites in this match. They are in excellent form and they play at home. Sheffield United, meanwhile, have six defeats after the first seven rounds. Nevertheless, I think the Blades won't lose high. They showed fighting spirit against Liverpool and Manchester City in the last two rounds. Sheffield lost both games, though the defeats were narrow. Plus, Chelsea key players might be tired.

Manchester City vs Liverpool Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Manchester City:
Ederson; Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo; De Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan; Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus, Sterling

Liverpool:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Gomez, Robertson; Henderson, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane; Jota

This is the big derby of the 8th round, a match between the champions of the last two seasons. Manchester City are favorites mainly because of the home advantage. The Citizens are in good form in the last period. They are in series of three victories across all competitions. First they beat Marseille with 3:0 in the Champions League. Ferran Torres, Ilkay Gundogan and Raheem Sterling scored the goals in France. The winning series continued against Sheffield United, much harder than expected. Manchester secured a narrow victory thanks to Kyle Walker's goal in the first half. On Tuesday they beat Olympiakos with 3:0. Ferran Torres opened the result in the 12th minute, while the remaining two goals were netted by Jesus Gabriel and Joao Cancelo in the finish of the match. As You could see, Manchester City kept clean sheet on all three matches. It seems the defense is much better since the arrival of Ruben Dias from Benfica. By the way, Guardiola decided to rest him from the last match only to be fully prepared for Liverpool. Pep still has few injury worries as he will be missing the best scorer Sergio Aguero due to a hamstring injury. Gabriel Jesus will probably start in attack, particularly after scoring against Olympiakos. Fernandinho and Benjamin Mendy remain out.

Liverpool are first on the table with 16 points. Or were first ahead of the weekend, as Southampton won on Friday and they are temporar leaders. The Reds started the campaign very good, with three straight victories, but the next period was really disappointing. The reigning champions have lost 7:2 to Aston Villa, the club worst defeat in the history. Next match was even worse as key defender Virgil van Dijk suffered a severe knee ligaments injury and will be out for at least six months. However, the Reds have won the last five matches across all competitions. They beat Ajax, Sheffield United, Midtjylland, West Ham and Atalanta. The last victory was memorable, 5:0 against the last season's Champions League quarter-finalists. It was a 'Rhapsody in Red' in Bergamo. Portugal international Diogo Jota, who started instead of Firmino, showed his class by scoring a hat-trick. It was the fourth consecutive game in which he found the back of the net. The remaining two goals were netted by Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. But two other players should also be mentioned - Nathaniel Phillips and Rhys Williams. Phillips was named as man of the match against Wets Ham, while Williams were excellent against the side scored 40 goals in their previous 19 games in Europe. Most probably they will both start from the bench now as Joel Matip has recovered. Klopp remain without injured Van Dijk, Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Diogo Jota probably booked a starting place after scoring three goals on Tuesday.

Manchester City vs Liverpool Prediction:

I expect Manchester City to win the derby. The key reason for my pick is connect with Liverpool. The absence of Van Dijk is a huge handicap and this is a type of game the Reds will struggle. Manchester City have won the last three home league matches against the Reds and I believe the series will continue.
