Arsenal will welcome Newcastle to the Emirates on Sunday. The points from this match are extremely important for both teams in the battle for the Champions League. Arsenal are second with 68 points, while Newcastle third with 66 points. With only two rounds remained, this match could be crucial. The Gunners will secure a spot if they win here, but the atmosphere in the squad is not at desired level. Arsenal have no win on the last five matches across all competitions, losing three and drawing two. The players confidence isn't high and that's the key problem for Arteta. Arsenal were eliminated from the Champions League after losing home and away to PSG. They also lost all three domestic competitions, Premier League, FA Cuo and Carabao Cup. The reason for the collapse is the injury situation, at least that's my opinion. Two key strikers are still sidelined - Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz. Arteta was forced to play with Marino as False-9, but the Spaniard is now suspended. Important defender Gabriel Magalhaes continue to miss out for Arsenal. That's not all, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jorginho are also out injured, while Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard are rated as doubtful.

Newcastle are third with 66 points and they are also fighting for a Champions League spot. They could climb to the second place, but need to win here. The actual oppositions Arsenal have the same ambitions, so this match is a classic six-pointer. The Magpies are not in perfect away form in the last period as they lost one and drew the other Premier League fixtures on road. The draw at Brighton could somehow be swallowed, but the defeat from Aston Villa was catastrophic, Newcastle lost 4:1. But there are some positive results too. Newcastle won the last six league matches at St James Park. Furthermore, the Magpies have won Carabao Cup after beating 2:1 Liverpool at Wembley. Ending their 70-year trophy drought was definitely a memorable day for the fans and players. But Carabao Cup is now a history, the priority for Eddie Howe is to secure the Champions League football for next season. Howe has some injury worries ahead of this match. Lewis Hall is definitely sidelined with a foot injury, while five more players are rated as doubtful - Joelinton, Kieran Trippier, Joe Willock and Matt Targett. Finally, Sven Botman, who withdrew in the 55th minute of the win over Chelsea after taking a blow to his knee, is highly doubtful and will be assessed on the day of the match.

Arsenal vs Newcastle Prediction:

Arsenal weren't at their best in the finish of the season. They lost the Premier League title once again, suffered the elimination from the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup. The current form is poor, three defeats and two draws on the last five matches in all competitions. In other words, Arsenal have no win in five matches in a row. And they were lucky against Liverpool last weekend. Arsenal were two goals down at halftime, heavily outplayed, but managed to score twice in the second half to avoid the defeat. Newcastle, meanwhile, could write another chapter of history - they could become the first team to ever beat Arsenal four times in a single campaign. Anthony Gordon has scored in three of his past five games against Arsenal across all competitions. I think Newcastle could remain unbeaten at the Emirates.
