Sheffield United vs Liverpool Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Sheffield United:
Ramsdale; Baryam, Jagielka, Ampadu; Baldock, Lundstram, Norwood, Fleck, Stevens; Sharp, McGoldrick

Liverpool:
Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Kabak, Phillips, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Thiago Alcantara, Jones, Salah, Firmino, Mane

Sheffield United welcome Liverpool at Bramall Lane, looking for the fourth season's victory. The Blades are rock bottom with just 11 points, huge 14 away from the safety. They have lost 20 of their 25 league matches this season. Manager Chris Wilder was against five substitutes rule, but it seems his selfish behavior resulted only with growing number of injured players and nothing else. It is not coincidence that the rest of European top leagues permitted the clubs to use two extra subs to deal with the hectic scheduling caused by coronavirus. However, Wilder was against the new rule and the list of injured players in the Premier League is very long. Sheffield haven't benefited from his decision so far and they are main relegation candidates. Only a miracle could save the Blades as it looks at the moment. The actual form is also poor, they are in series of three defeats. Sheffield United first lost to Chelsea, then lost to West Ham, while last weekend suffered a narrow defeat from fellow relegation candidates Fulham. The match was decided in the second half when Ademola Lookman scored his fourth goal of the season. The Blades were "unlucky" in the finish as referee decided not to give a penalty after a VAR review when Jayden Bogle clashed with Areola. Speaking on 'Match of the Day', pundit Danny Murphy suggested that Sheffield should have been awarded a penalty. Nevertheless, the defeat will have negative impact to the atmosphere in the squad. Wilder has big injury worries ahead of this match as Chris Basham, who limped off after 51 minutes at Craven Cottage with a hamstring injury, is unlikely to feature against Liverpool. John Egan, Sander Berge, Jack O'Connell and Jack Robinson remain out injured, while Lys Mousset is rated as doubtful.

Last week I wrote that "Liverpool are probably in the biggest crisis in the last 50 years". Now I must delete the word 'probably'. The Reds are definitely in the biggest crisis in the modern history. The reigning champions suffered a painful defeats to Brighton, Manchester City, Leicester City and Everton last weekend. It was their first defeat in a Merseyside derby at Anfield since 1999. The Reds look a long way from the team that won the title and the Champions League trophy in the past two seasons. Anfield isn't a fortress anymore - Liverpool have lost four consecutive home league matches for only the second time in the history, last doing so back in December 1923, when they were also defending top-flight champions. Jurgen Klopp is feeling big pressure, as well as the players. Their confidence is lost, top class players like Salah, Firmino and Mane look pathetic. It is hard to believe they managed to score just two goals on the last four matches in the Premier League, with one of these two coming from a penalty. The opponents patiently wait for their time and eventually punish the defensive mistakes. The key reason for the poor results is the injury situation. All three central defenders - Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are long-term injury victims. Fabinho, who played as centre-back for most of the time this season, is also struggling with injury, as well as captain Jordan Henderson. Last month Liverpool signed Ozan Kabak from Schalke, but he had a nightmare debut. Maybe he need some time for adaptation, but my first impressions are not positive. January arrival Ben Davies is yet to register his first appearance in Reds' shirt. On the positive note, Diogo Jota has returned to full training 11 weeks after injuring his knee in the Champions League fixture against Midtjylland. The Reds had won just two of their 11 league fixtures since 9 December. It remains to be seen whether Jota will feature at Bramall Lane.

Sheffield United vs Liverpool Prediction:

Both teams are in awful form. Sheffield United have lost three Premier League matches in a row, while Liverpool four. The question is who will recover sooner. Well, I think Liverpool. It's simple, the quality is on their side. Liverpool are in must win position as they are five points off West Ham in fourth place. A possible defeat against bottom-placed Blades will be a catastrophe. I expect the Reds to enter the match fully motivated.

Father of Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker drowns in southern Brazil. The goalkeeper will probably miss the match against Sheffield United.

Everton vs Southampton Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Everton:
Pickford; Holgate, Godfrey, Keane, Digne; Doucoure, Davies, Allan; Rodriguez, Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison

Southampton:
McCarthy; Bednarek, Salisu, Vestergaard, Bertrand; Djenepo, Armstrong, Ward-Prowse, Tella; Ings, Adams

Everton welcome Southampton at Goodison Park, looking for the second consecutive victory. The hosts have 40 points, 10 more than the Saints. The Toffees are in touch with the Champions League spots, but need three points from this match to stay competitive. The actual form is good, even they lost two of the last three Premier League games. The defeats came at home, first against relegation candidates Fulham, then to the league leaders Manchester City. The defeat to the Citizens was somehow "expected" as they are the best side in the league, but the defeat against Fulham was unacceptable. Not only they lost, but played very bad. Their first shot on target of the game came in the 76th minute through Gylfi Sigurdsson. But the last week's victory brought a big happiness. For the first time in the Premier League history, Everton beat Liverpool at Anfield and won the Merseyside derby. Richarlison put Everton in front after three minutes when he scored after a superb pass from James Rodriguez. That was the 8th assist from James, more than any other Everton's player in the season. The victory was secured in the finish when substitute Gylfi Sigurdsson scored from the spot after Dominic Calvert-Lewin tangled with Trent Alexander-Arnold. The penalty was at least controversial, but the victory was fully deserved. For this match Ancelotti has some injury worries as Yerry Mina and Jean-Phillipe Gbamin remain sidelined, but there are some positive news too. Allan and Calvert-Lewin have recovered and took part in the derby. At the end I will mention Ancelotti. The 61-year-old Italian is doing a solid job and the fans are satisfied, as well as the club officials. He is 14 months into a four-and-a-half-year contract, which expires in June 2024. Carlo said that will like to be in charge at the club when they move to their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock in 2024.

Southampton are on the 14th place with 30 points. The next period will be crucial for their ambitions, but I think they can't expect anything more than a mid-table finish. They were excellent in the first part of the season, even spent some time on the first place, but the last results are awful. The Saints have lost seven of their last eight matches in the Premier League. This is their biggest crisis in the last few years. According to the statistic, Southampton have lost seven of the last eight games, after suffering just two defeats in their 15 before that. In that series Hasenhuttl's men shared the points only with Chelsea, while lost to Leicester, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Manchester United, Newcastle, Wolverhampton and Leeds United on Tuesday. The away form is particularly poor, they have failed to score in four of their last five away league matches, as many goalless performances as they managed in their previous 31 on the road. To be worse, Hasenhuttl has lot of injury issues. Midfielder Oriol Romeu will miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury which will need surgery. The Spaniard came off with the problem during the closing stages of the Tuesday's defeat at Leeds. The club have confirmed he has a fracture on his ankle that will keep him out for at least three months. Takumi Minamino, who came on loan from Liverpool during January transfer window and instantly scored, is sidelined with a hamstring issue. Defender Kyle Walker-Peters, midfielder Ibrahima Diallo and forward Theo Walcott will also miss the match against Everton. Danny Ings and Moussa Djenepo should return to the starting eleven.

Everton vs Southampton Prediction:

The matches between these two sides are usually very interesting. Everton suffered a 2:0 defeat on the reverse fixture earlier this season, while they played out an 1:1 draw at Goodison Park in the last season. But Southampton are in awful form at the moment, they have seven defeats on the last eight matches in the Premier League. The players confidence is low and I expect to continue struggling. Everton will rub salt in the Saints' wounds,
