Norwich City vs Arsenal Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Norwich City:
Krul, Aarons, Kabak, Gibson, Williams, Gilmour, Normann, McLean, Placheta, Pukki, Cantwell

Arsenal:
Ramsdale, Tomiyasu, White, Magalhaes, Tierney, Partey, Xhaka, Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli, Lacazette

Norwich City are sharing the last place with Newcastle as both teams have 10 points. However, the safe zone isn't far away as 17th-placed Watford have 13 points. But something else is a problem - the current form. The Canaries are in series of three defeats in the Premier League. The poor run started at Tottenham when they lost 3:0, while continued against Manchester United (0:1) and Aston Villa (0:2). What is worse, Norwich failed to score a single goal on the mentioned three fixtures. Manager Dean Smith praised the performance and spirit of his players following the narrow defeat by Manchester United, but they were nowhere near against his former club. Norwich managed to register just three tame efforts on target against Villa and deserved the defeat. Todd Cantwell, who was restored to the starting lineup, failed to make an impact, registering only 24 touches. He was angry when Smith replaced him early in the second half and went straight down the tunnel ignoring the boss. Smith has additional issues as centre-back Ozan Kabak was forced off with an ankle injury in the first half. Three other regulars are already struggling with injuries - captain Grant Hanley, Milot Rashica and Mathias Normann. Christoph Zimmermann and Andrew Omobamidele are also injured, while Pierre Lees-Melou, Lukas Rupp, Josh Sargent and Christos Tzolis have all tested positive for COVID-19. That was the main reason why Saturday's match with West Ham was postponed.

Arsenal are in very good run at the moment. They have won the last three matches in the Premier League and now sit fourth on the table with 32 points. Manager Mikel Arteta is doing an excellent job and the fans are satisfied. The Gunners managed to beat Southampton and West Ham at the Emirats, as well as Leeds United on road in the last round. Arsenal have outplayed Bielsa's men and won 4:1 on Saturday. Two goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka's deflected effort made it 3:0 before half-time, while substitute Smith-Rowe scored the fourth goal in the 84th minute. On Tuesday Arteta's men have secured the semi-finals of Carabao Cup by beating Sunderland 5:1. Despite having Albert Sambi Lokonga, Pablo Mari and Calum Chambers missing after positive Covid tests, and Ainsley Maitland-Niles absent with illness, Arteta was still able to continue the winning series. Eddie Nketiah was 'Man of the match' after scoring a hat-trick to continue his prolific form in the cup. The 22-year-old forward, who has only played 38 minutes in the Premier League this season, is pushing for a starting place. Arteta has "sweet problems" ahead of the trip to Carrow Road. The ex-captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who wasn't in the Gunners' squad for the last games after breaking the club protocol, could also come in contention. I've already mention four players that will miss the match, while Takehiro Tomiyasu is rated as doubtful after the he was forced off against Leeds. Cedric Soares will deputize if necessary. Finally, Sead Kolasinac is out with an ankle injury.

Norwich City vs Arsenal Prediction:

The quality is on Arsenal side and they should win the match. The Gunners are in excellent form winning the last four matches across all competitions. They scored nine goals on the last two matches, while all four mentioned victories were in handicap. Norwich, meanwhile, are in series of defeats and the players confidence isn't high.

Newcastle vs Manchester United Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Newcastle:
Dubravka; Murphy, Lascelles, Schar, Ritchie; Almiron, Longstaff, Willock, Joelinton; Wilson, Saint-Maximin

Manchester United:
De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Maguire, Telles; Fred, McTominay; Sancho, Fernandes; Ronaldo, Rashford

Newcastle United will be looking to start the festive period with a positive result against Manchester United at St James Park on Monday night. The Magpies are sharing the last place with Norwich City. Both teams have 10 points, while the 17th-placed Watford have 13. That means only three points separate them from a safe zone. But the current form is poor, they are in series of three defeats in the Premier League. It is true the opponents were very strong, but anyway. The poor run started at Leicester City (0:4), while continued against Liverpool (1:3) and Manchester City (0:4). What is worse, Newcastle conceded eleven goals on the mentioned three fixtures. A tally of 41 goals received is unsurprisingly the worst defensive record in the Premier League this season. The fans are disappointed, they were expecting to see their team fighting for European spots after the takeover by the Saudi "Public Investment Fund." Newcastle have not won a major trophy for 66 years, since their FA Cup victory in 1955, while the last league title was won in 1927. The new owners brought a new manager as Eddie Howe replaced Steve Bruce, but the overall results are poor. Howe has some additional issues as Isaac Hayden is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card against Man City, so Sean Longstaff could replace him in the midfield. Jonjo Shelvey, who scored a goal against Liverpool at Anfield, is still a fitness doubt. Federico Fernandez and Jamal Lewis have been ruled out of the festive period due to injuries, while this match comes too soon for Paul Dummett. On the positive note, Javier Manquillo and Emil Krafth have returned from non-COVID-related illnesses.

Manchester United are playing much better since the arrival of Ralf Rangnick. The German coach instantly brought better results. Due to work permit reasons, he took full control only in the last two matches against Crystal Palace and Norwich City. And his start was excellent, Man Utd secured back-to-back wins, registering two clean sheets. No manager in the club’s history has kept a clean sheet in each of the first three league games in charge. Manchester are sixth on the table with 27 points, but their two fixtures against Brentford and Brighton were postponed. Six points from these two games could see Manchester between the Top-4. However, the actual form isn't at desired level. They were far from their best on the last match against Norwich City, but Cristiano Ronaldo's 75th-minute penalty secured a huge three points. At the end it was goalkeeper David de Gea most deserved for the victory. He maintained his excellent form this season and his brilliant saves helped the team once again. Rangnick has most of his players available, only Paul Pogba is still recovering. Man United haven't played since 11 December because of the Covid outbreak which closed their training ground, so the pause was welcome in the rehabilitation process. That means Raphael Varane, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial will all come into contention for this match. The situation with Victor Lindelof is much better after his scare with breathing difficulties against Norwich. But he wasn't expected to start anyway, with Varane and Maguire both ready. At the end I will mention that Rangnick has added Ewan Sharp to his coaching team. Sharp was working alongside Rangnick at Lokomotiv Moscow and he come to Old Trafford following Kieran McKenna’s exit to take over as manager at Ipswich.

Newcastle vs Manchester United Prediction
:

I expect both teams to score at St James Park. Manchester United have won each of their last four encounters with Newcastle - scoring at least three goals on each occasion. But at the same time they are without a clean sheet against the Magpies in the last five mutual games since January 2019.

Both teams to score - Yes @ 1.78
I will probably pick the same bet. RR will need time to prove himself and especially his new coaching staff he brought. Even if they already have working plan, his players played in chaos until now and the effect won't be immediate.

The only concern about this is:
1. Varane is back
2. Defense is locked well under RR - 1:0 Norwich, 1:0 Crystal Palace. (but we saw teams had their chances to score!)

Newcastle has no lack of motivation as they sit in the relegation zone and has a lot of work to do until the end.

Personal tip is 1-2 or 1-3 and BTTS is the first bet I will make, other bets may come later or after squad announcements.

Good luck 🍀
