Liverpool welcome Fulham to Anfield on Wednesday night looking to continue the winning series. The Reds are currently fifth with 56 points, while Fulham are in the middle of the table with 45. Liverpool are in excellent form at the moment, but it seems too late. According to me, they are out of the Top-4 battle. Jurgen Klopp's men have won the last four matches in the Premier League. They managed to beat Leeds United, Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Tottenham, scoring 15 goals in the process. The last victory was dramatic and obtained in the stoppage time. Curtis Jones, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah secured a 3:0 lead after just 15 minutes and many Tottenham fans left the stadium. Nevertheless, Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Richarlison produced a spectacular comeback. And just when everybody thought the Spurs will left Anfield unbeaten, Diogo Jota took advantage of Lucas Moura's mistake to secure a memorable 4:3 victory. Klopp has the majority of his key players available, only Stefan Bajcetic and Calvin Ramsay are out injured, while Roberto Firmino and Naby Keita's are rated as doubtful. It is interesting that Klopp also suffered a muscle injury against the Spurs. He could also earn suspension for his inappropriate behavior in the finish of the match.
Fulham are safe in the middle of the table with 45 points and it seems they have nothing to play for. The Cottagers are out of the relegation battle, but at the same time nine points away from the European spots. The actual form could be evaluated as poor, they have six defeats on the last eight matches in the Premier League. Fulham managed to register victories over Everton and Leeds United, but suffered defeats to Brentord, Arsenal, Bournemouth, West Ham, Aston Villa and Manchester City during the weekend. To be worse, they have failed to keep a single clean sheet since February. Silva's men have produced lot of issues to the reigning champions during the weekend, but ultimately lost 2:1 as Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez made the difference. To be worse, two important players suffered injuries on the same match - the captain Tim Ream and midfielder Andreas Pereira were both taken off and won't play at Anfield. Silva has confirmed that Ream has broken his arm and the season is finished for him, but he is still hoping the Brazilian has avoided anything serious. Key striker Aleksandar Mitrovic remain suspended and Layvin Kurzawa is out injured, while Willian is still a doubt with a thigh injury.
Liverpool vs. Fulham Prediction:
Fulham have lost six of their previous eight contests in the Premier League and the players confidence is lower. However, they showed teeth against the Reds in the last period. The Cottagers have impressively managed to avoid defeat in each of their last three mutual games with Liverpool across all competitions. The reverse fixture played in August ended with a 2:2 draw, so I expect goals again.
