Can someone explain to me the connection between PokerStars live events and the PokerStars website. Are there PokerStars land based casinos around?????

Over PokerStar website you can easily find large number of poker related tournaments and matches and PokerStar live events a term used by PokerStar because they are organizer of some poker related live tournament.
