Hi everyone,

I'd just like to introduce myself to the community. My name is Andy, I'm from Northern Ireland and I worked in a local bookies for a few years but I've left that now to persue a different career but I am still very much interested in betting.

Hello, Andy, welcome to the forum, Im curious what was the bookmaker you worked for?
Do you bet online now after you left it.

It was just a small independant bookmakers in Limavady. Yeah, I still bet online but don't place as many bets as I used to, I tend to stick to those that offer value that I just can't pass up.

Well, I am the same nowadays, I put a few bucks just to entertain myself. Just to enjoy watching the matches more. :)

Hi All

I am a new member of the forum. I am a student in Auckland New Zealand and I currently doing an assignment on which of sportsbetting and drugs is the greatest threat to sport in the 21st century. I would really appreciate all feedback as would like to submit a balanced view of a range of people on this issue. I have posted my first topic - The effect of sportsbetting in sports - and would appreciate your comments. Please feel free to raise your opinion as it doesn't matter on which side of the fence you are.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum.
I think one positive side of gambling is that some people win big jackpots and that change their lives forever. The negative is there are more losers than winners. But if you gamble for fun and dont spend what you cant afford then it should be okay. Maybe people should be controled somehow so they can deposit only a certain ammount of money, like say no more than 200$ per month.

Hello all nice to meet you all. Hi,

I am a new member too. I was mostly into online poker, but since the crackdown I am starting to look into sports betting. Nice to be here.

Hi, winningstreak, so you are from USA?
I guess soon online bookmakers wont accept US players too, like the poker sites.
