May I split if i got 20 in blackjack?

Should I split if i got 20 in blackjack?
All people I know tell me I should do it but I want opinion from people that know better.
I am beginner in blackjack so dont laugh

I play free blackjack games too. I usually stick on a 20 because it is an easy win but sometimes I split depending on how the cards are falling and how the momentum is going.

If i got 20 - id only split if the dealer has a low card. id say 6 or under. take the risk, double your bet - you might end up getting another two tens.
