Roma vs Milan Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Milan:

Roma will host Milan in the derby of the ninth round in Serie A. The hosts are on the sixth position, three points away from the Champions League spots. The fans are not satisfied with the actual situation, they were expecting to see their team between top 4. However, three victories in the first eight rounds isn't a good record. The attack looks toothless, Roma have scored just two goals on the last four matches in Serie A. The Giallorossi must improve their performances starting from this match. But coach Paulo Fonseca has lot of injury issues in this period. He has no less than eight victims and was forced to call some Primavera players in the first team. Bryan Cristante, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Amadou Diawara, Davide Zappacosta, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Cengiz Under, Nikola Kalinic and Davide Santon are struggling with injuries. Most of them will miss the derby with Milan, only Under and Santon are rated as doubtful. Key striker Edin Dzeko has fractured his cheekbone earlier this month, but he was rushed back. The Bosnian international played the whole 90 minutes against Borussia Moenchengladbach in Europa League on Thursday wearing a protective mask. To be worse, Justin Kluivert is out suspended after saw red card on the match with Sampdoria last weekend.

Milan are sharing the 10th place with Torino and Udinese. All three teams have 10 points. Of course, nobody at Milan is satisfy with this situation. Sport director Ricky Massara insisted their ambition is to be competitive for a Champions League place this season. So, it wasn't surprise the former coach Marco Giampaolo was sacked two weeks ago. Stefano Pioli was announced as new tactician. The 53-year-old is known as coach with a charismatic approach to management, building a foundation based on valuing players as people first. The new boss has not been focusing too much on tactics as he has his eyes on the psychology of the squad. Pioli is also known as coach who likes to work with players individually, to understand them and how they work in order to adapt his methods. However, his debut wasn't fully successful. Milan dropped two important points against Lecce last Sunday. Hakan Calhanoglu and Krzysztof Piatek secured a 2:1 lead for the Rossoneri, but Marco Calderoni’s stoppage-time goal gave Lecce a 2:2 draw. It was a big disappointment, though there was a visible progress. Milan played well, created lot of chances and scored two goals from open play, as many as throughout Giampaolo’s seven matches in charge. Pioli has most of his players ready for this match, only Mattia Caldara and Giacomo Bonaventura are out.

Roma vs Milan Prediction
:

I expect a low scoring match at Stadio Olimpico. The tradition supports me, Roma have seen Under 2.5 goals in their last six home matches against Milan across all competitions. Nevertheless, the key reason for my pick is connect with Roma. There have been Under 2.5 goals on the Roma's last four games in Serie A. As I wrote above, the attack looks toothless. The Giallorossi have scored just two goals on the last four league matches. Europe League is not an exception, Roma played 1:1 on the last two matches against Wolfsberger and Moenchengladbach. Milan will try to remain unbeaten, so I don't expect too offensive approach.

Roma vs Milan Pick: Under 2.5 goals @ 2.12 with Unibet

Hellas Verona - Sassuolo
Important match for both Italian teams as they did not grab many points yet. I expect a tough and aggressive match with a lot of tackles. Today’s referee Luca Pairetto gave 41 cards in his last 6 matches. This is an average of almost 7 cards per match! The line of 4,5 cards @1.53 and 5,5 cards @2.23 at Unibet is in my opinion doable.

10 cards :)

I think the quality difference is a given, with Inter having a clear lead. Inter has learned her lesson with Parma and is now required to be serious and return to the triplets. Brescia has limited capabilities and has shown with Genoa that she cannot keep the results safely
