Juventus v Lazio predictions & betting tips
Juventus started their Serie A campaign by winning deservedly 1-0 away to Sampdoria after a goal by new recruit Tevez. They passed the ball around neatly, had total domination possession wise and created a good number of chances. They recently beat Lazio 4-0 in the Super Coppa that was played in Rome. In this match it was quite even until half time, and then Juventus dominated in the second. There are no new injury worries for Juventus but Marchisio is out.
Lazio beat Udinese 2-1 in their first Serie A match of the season. The win was deserved. Lazio played better, had more chances and even hit the woodwork. The Romans is said to have signed prolific Galatasaray striker Burak Yilmmaz. If this is true, they have done a really good deal at €12M. Against Juventus the biggest difference between the sides was effectiveness in the final third. With a goal getter like Yilmaz to partner veteran striker Klose Lazio will be a threat for everyone. If Yilmaz is signed I doubt he will be a starter here.
Run of play
Since and including 2011 Juventus has taken on Lazio in Torino three times in competitive matches. The stats are 1-1-1. Last Serie A season it ended 0-0 on the Juventus stadion. Juventus were totally dominant in that game. Lazio didn’t even have a single shot on goal. In the reverse fixture Juventus won 2-0, deservedly so.
Most likely this will be a game where Lazio focuses mainly on denying Juventus too much space to operate in. However, with the dynamic midfield Juventus has and the ability they have to play through balls and longer passes from the feet of football maestro Pirlo Lazio is in all kinds of trouble. I think Juventus will dominate possession and create by far most chances here.
Juventus v Lazio betting tips
I have a couple of betting tips as usual up my sleeve. The first is Juventus on the 1x2. Juventus has strengthened the squad again this summer, and they have a great squad. Lazio has a good eleven, but doesn’t match this Juve side, especially up front. Unless Juventus has a really bad day at the office 1.40 (2/5) with Paddy Power for the home win is a great betting tip! It is one of the matches you can use for your accumulators this weekend for sure. My second betting tip for this game is Juventus to win to nil. Last season it ended 0-0. In the Super Coppa Lazio didn’t score either. Juventus has three monsters at the back, four if you count in Buffon. I doubt Klose has the energy required to fight with these beasts alone. I say alone as the Lazio midfield will be rather busy defending! The price is also right at paddy power! For me 2.20 (6/5) is more than useful
