I will start my preview with the actual situation in Group F. Here are the table:
1. Spain 20
2. Sweden 15
----------------
3. Romania 14
4. Norway 11
5. Faroe I. 3
6. Malta 3
As You could see, this is a direct clash for the second place. A victory for Sweden guarantee a ticket for Euro 2020 regardless of other results. In case Romania to win, they will be closer to the second place, although the Romanians have to face group leaders Spain in the last round. A draw is also a good result for Sweden as they will need a victory against poor Faroe Islands in the last round.
Romania have a record of four victories, two draws and two defeats. They are unbeaten on the last three matches, winning two of them. Romania first beat Malta with 1:0 thanks to a second-half goal scored by George Puscas. Next they won 3:0 against Faroe Islands. Three goals were scored by three different players - Puscas, Mitrita and Keseru. In the last round Romania dropped two important points against Norway. Mitrita gave one-goal advantage to his national team, but the Norwegians equalized in the stoppage time. Coach Cosmin Contra will be handicapped for this match as defenders Vlad Chiriches and Dragos Grigore are out injured, as well as striker Florin Andone.
Sweden have four victories, three draws and just one defeat so far. The actual form could be rated as good, two wins and two draws on the last four matches in the group. In the last game they played an 1:1 draw with Spain. Sweden were unlucky to beat the former World Champions as they had one-goal advantage through Marcus Berg, but conceded an injury-time equalizer. Coach Jan Olof Andersson has most of his players available, only the long-term absentees Jakob Johansson and Ludwig Augustinson remain sidelined. Defender Pierre Bengtsson, who missed the weekend match for FC Copenhagen, is rated as doubtful.
Romania vs Sweden Prediction:
I think Sweden are closer to the victory. The Blue and Yellow's are in better form, they almost beat Spain last month. In addition, Romania are without striker Florin Andone who suffered a knee ligament injury while playing for Galatasaray at the weekend.
