AI’s pick: Brazil Win (1.36) & bet 15% of your bankroll
My pick: Under 2.5 Total Goals (2.00)
Croatia, famous for its grit and fighting spirit, will be facing Brazil, the clear favorite of the tournament, on Saturday.
As in all sports, aging matters — Cristiano Ronaldo is an evident example. But Croatia’s key player Luka Modric seems to have forgotten his age, or at least have it stopped around 2018 when he led the team to a runner-up in Russia World Cup. During the Groups and its match against Japan, Croatia has shown some efficiency in defense and teamwork. Livakovic also seems to be in a good shape as displayed by his amazing saves during their last shoot-out. Brozovic also ran 16 kilometers in just one game and Perisic scored an equalizer-header. Not to mention, Gvardiol stood like wall that can’t be demolished.
Brazil, too, has something to say. They just obliterated South Korea with a score of 4-1, where Richarlison, Vini Jr, Neymar, Lucas Paqueta all scored. Their performance at least during that game was on another level. Their Defence with Goalie Alisson is solid, their Midfielders are great, Their Attackers are outstanding. Now it’s just the matter of consistency — whether they’ll keep up with their power when they start to face stronger enemies.
Croatia is a good team and a well-organized one. But when I asked an AI whether Croatia could beat Brazil, he (or she) said DEFINITELY NO (Actually, he said the chances are 10%). No one is saying Croatia is a bad team. It’s just that Brazil is too strong.
If I can add to this great AI’s intelligence, given that Croatia has a solid defense and their attack has been bad all along, I think total goal won’t go over 2.5.
