Roma vs Monza Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Roma:
Patricio; Mancini, Smalling, Kumbulla; Celik, Matic, Cristante, Zalewski; Pellegrini, Dybala; Abraham

Monza:
Di Gregorio; Caldirola, Marrone, Augusto; Birindelli, Colpani, Barberis, Sensi, Molina; Caprari, Petagna

Roma started the season very good, with two victories and one draw. I believe the fans are satisfied. The Giallorossi secured narrow wins against Salernitana and Cremonese, while shared the points with Juventus during the weekend. Taking points off Juve at the Allianz Stadium is never easy, even more when the Old Lady score an early goal. Roma did not responded well as that goal completely confused the players. Juventus fired six shots in the opening 15 minutes, but Rui Patricio was more than solid. The second half brought different story as Tammy Abraham scored an equaliser in the 69th minute. Jose Mourinho wasn't satisfy with the performance of his players, but surely like the result. The Special One has additional issues as some important players are injured. Nicolo Zaniolo remains sidelined with a shoulder injury, while Georginio Wijnaldum, is long-term injury victim. On the positive note, striker Andrea Belotti arrived from Torino and could be included in the squad, probably starting as substitute.

Monza are newcomers in Serie A. The Lombardy outfit, owned by the former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, will try to escape the relegation. Interesting to mention, Monza were in Serie C when Berlusconi's Fininvest Group took over in 2018. As You probably know, the 85-year-old owned AC Milan for three decades during their most successful period. Monza started the new season awful. They lost all three matches. In the first round they lost 2:1 to Torino at home, then lost 4:0 away to Napoli and 2:1 to Udinese at Friuli. The players confidence is low and that's a huge problem. Coach Giovanni Stroppa is already under huge pressure. He has now lost each of his last nine matches in Serie A - including six with relegated Crotone in the 2020/21 season. Many fans believe he is not good-enough for top-flight division and could be sacked if Monza lose at Olimpico. To be worse, Stroppa has three injury worries - summer signings Andrea Ranocchia and Pablo Mari are definitely sidelined, while defender Marlon is rated as doubtful. Roma academy product Gianluca Caprari will try to impress against his boyhood club.

Roma vs Monza Prediction:

I expect a low scoring match at Stadio Olympico. Roma are huge favorites in this match, however they are not scoring easily. The Giallorossi have scored just three goals in the first three matches, though they collected seven points. Just for comparison, Liverpool have scored 13 goals in the first four matches of the Premier League, but have only five points. I think there will be no more of three goals.

Roma vs Monza Pick: Under 3.0 goals @ 1.98 with Pinnacle
