Lecce will welcome AS Roma to Stadio Ettore Giardiniero – Via del Mare in attempt to remain unbeaten. One point from this match would be evaluated as success because Lecce haven't won a meeting with Roma since 2012. However, the atmosphere in the squad is much better after the last victory. As You probably know, Lecce celebrated a narrow, but very important 1:0 win over rock-bottomed Salernitana in the previous Serie A round. It was the first win for Lecce in two months. The victory moved them up to 13th position in the table. Coach Luca Gotti could be satisfied, but there is no space for relaxation. They are just four points above the drop zone and they are still involved into the relegation battle. Lecce need to keep collecting points to stay away from the danger area. But the home form isn't at desired level. Not only they suffered defeats on the last two matches at Via del Mare, but failed to score a single goal against Verona and Inter. In addition, Gotti has four concerns for this match as Lameck Banda, Federico Brancolini, Mohamed Kaba and Kastriot Dermaku are all sidelined.

Roma are in excellent form and the atmosphere in the team is very good. The Giallorossi have seven wins, one draw and just one defeat in the last nine league games. Everything look much better since Daniele de Rossi took the team. It wasn't an easy decision for Friedkin brothers, to sack Jose Mourinho and to install inexperienced De Rossi, but it was a right decision. The Portuguese coach allegedly felt betrayed by the players, something wrong I think. However, De Rossi started very good, and the players confidence is high. They are currently three points shy of Bologna in fourth position, but must win here as Bologna have a relatively easy match against bottom-placed Salernitana. Roma were also successful in Europe. They managed to eliminate Brighton with a 4:1 aggregate victory. Roma will face Italian opposition in the quarterfinals of the Europe League as they should play against AC Milan. DDR has the majority of his players available, but Lorenzo Pellegrini will serve a suspension, while Sardar Azmoun, Paulo Dybala and Renato Sanches will be missing through injury. Finally, Tammy Abraham remains long-term injury victim.

Roma have an excellent record against Lecce and haven't lost in 19 of their last 20 league encounters. I believe the Giallorossi will continue the positive series. They look much better since Danielle de Rossi took the team. Roma have seven wins, one draw and just one defeat in the last 9 games in Serie A and the players confidence is high. In addition, Roma won 4:1 against Premier League side Brighton in Europe League. According to me, Roma are closer to the victory here. They are in better form at the moment, but more important - the quality is on their side.
