Crystal Palace vs Liverpool Preview:

Crystal Palace:

Liverpool:

Crystal Palace host Liverpool at Selhurst Park in the Premier League on Saturday evening. The Eagles are in the middle of the table with 26 points, six away from the drop zone. The actual form could be evaluated as solid, they have just one defeat on the last five league games. However, the remaining four matches have all finished in draw, so only 4 points were collected. Nevertheless, I rate these results as solid considering the opponents. Palace faced Newcastle, Brighton, Brentford and twice with Manchester United. Of course, the fans expectations are always higher, but manager Patrick Vieira is probably satisfied. He has some issues ahead of this match. Left-back Tyrick Mitchell suffered an ankle injury against Brentford and he is rated as doubtful. Three players are definitely out - Wilfried Zaha, Sam Johnstone and Nathan Ferguson. Finally, Joel Ward is rated as doubtful with a calf injury. James Tomkins missed out the last match due to a personal issue, but should play here. Vieira has "sweet problem" about the attack as substitute Eze scored last weekend and he is challenging Jeffrey Schlupp.

Liverpool were demolished 5:2 by Real Madrid in the Champions League. The start of the match was like a dream as the Reds scored two goals in the opening 15 minutes. The fans were in delirium after Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah secured a 2:0 lead. Unfortunately, that dream start would turn into a nightmare. Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema scored braces, plus Eder Militao's header resulted with Liverpool's worst-ever home defeat in European competitions. Klopp has refused to give up, but not many fans believe in comeback. According to me, it is a time for the club officials to evaluate the situation. The German coach has an iconic status at Anfield, but it seems he is unable to change something. Liverpool sit 8th in the table, seven points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham. The away form is far from the desired, the Reds have just three victories in 11 Premier League away games. To be worse, three important players remain sidelined through injuries - Thiago Alcantara, Luis Diazmand Ibrahima Konate. Darwin Nunez scored against Real, but Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino are both pushing for start. Naby Keita and Harvey Elliott are candidates to start in the midfield.

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool Prediction:

Liverpool players are out of confidence after a humiliating evening on Tuesday. The defeat from Real Madrid was very painful for the fans too. Never in the history the Reds have conceded more goals in European home fixture. As I wrote, the players confidence is low, but the fans disappointment is big. Crystal Palace have just one defeat on the last five matches in the Premier League and I think they could "rub salt in the Liverpool's wounds." I expect Palace to stay unbeaten here.
