Roma will try ti secure three points when they host Bologna at Stadio Olimpico on Friday night. The match is scheduled on Friday in order Roma to prepare for their Europe League fixture against Dutch side AZ Alkmaar next Thursday. Both Roma and Genoa are in the middle of the table. The Giallorossi are 10th with 24 points, while Genoa are one place behind with 23. However, the fans are not satisfied with the current situation and the points from this match are very important. Roma have the home advantage and this fact should not be underestimate, but Genoa are unbeaten on their last three matches in Serie A. One thing is sure, this will be an interesting clash.

Roma have started the new season in poor way, but the situation is much better since Claudio Ranieri took the team. At the moment they are unbeaten on the last four matches in Serie A. The Giallorossi managed to beat Parma and Lazio, both as hosts. Away from home they drew with Milan and Bologna, two Italian participants in the Champions League. The last week's match at Stadio Renato Dal'Arra was dramatic and ended with a 2:2 draw. Alexis Saelemaekers opened the scoring, but Bologna struck back with two quick goals, however a late VAR-awarded penalty converted by Artem Dovbyk was enough for Roma to escape defeat. The atmosphere in the squad is good and they will try to win here. Ranieri has almost all players available, only Bryan Cristante is out through injury.

Genoa are also in solid form. They have two wins and one draw on the last three matches in Serie A. The Rossoblu first beat Empoli 2:1, then played a goalless draw with Lecce, while last weekend beat Parma at home. The opponents were not strong, however, the positive results surely impacted the players confidence. Andrea Pinamonti is the player able to make a difference in this match. Pinamonti has scored seven goals and provided one assist so far and many things depend on his inspiration. The problem is coach Patrick Vieira has lot of injury issues as Vitinha, Brooke Norton-Cuffy, Caleb Ekuban, Ruslan Malinovskyi and Honest Ahanor remain sidelined. To be worse, captain Milan Badelj joined them after sustained a hamstring problem in the win over Parma.

Roma vs Genoa Prediction:

Roma had a turbulent first part of the season. Daniele de Rossi was sacked in September and replaced by Ivan Juric. The fans reacted furious and the club CEO Lina Souloukou was forced to resign feared for her safety. Juric also left the club few weeks later and Claudio Ranieri was appointed as coach until the end of the season. The atmosphere in the club is very good as Ranieri is very experienced and know how to deal with players and fans. Best of all, Roma are unbeaten on the last four matches in Serie A. Genoa are also in solid form, but I expect Roma to win the match, mainly due to home advantage. Furthermore, Roma are almost complete, while Genoa are without six injured players.
