Tottenham Hotspur welcome Manchester City to North London in the most interesting match this weekend in the Premier League. The Spurs will be extremely motivated as the victory here could see them climbing on the first position until at least Sunday. At the same time this will be a clash between old rivals, Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola. The Special One is aiming to win successive competitive fixtures against Guardiola for the first time in his career. Tottenham finally pleased the fans. The actual form is very good, they won the last three matches in the Premier League. First they beat Burnley thanks to a late goal scored by Harry Kane. The second victory was obtain against Brighton. The Spurs won 2:1 after Gareth Bale netted in the 73rd minute, while the first goal came from penalty converted by Kane. In the last match before the international break Tottenham beat West Bromwich Albion. Once again it was a narrow victory, once again the winning goal was scored in the finish of the match and once again the scorer was Kane. He has been involved in 23 goals in his 14 appearances across all competitions this season. The atmosphere in the squad is excellent. Mourinho has the key players available, but Matt Doherty is in isolation after he tested positive for coronavirus. Steven Bergwijn wasn't involved in Netherlands matches due to injury and he is rated as doubtful for this game. Erik Lamela is also doubtful due to a foot injury, while Tanguy Ndombele has recovered.
Manchester City didn't started the season according to the expectations, though they are in good form in the last period. The Citizens have three victories and just one draw on the last four matches in all competitions. They managed to beat Marseille with 3:0 in the Champions League thanks to goals scored by Ferran Torres, Ilkay Gundogan and Raheem Sterling. The next victory came at Sheffield United in the Premier League. Pep Guardiola's men weren't superior, but still won 1:0 thanks to Kyle Walker's goal. City then beat the Greek champions Olympiakos with 3:0 in the Champions League. Ferran Torres, Jesus Gabriel and Joao Cancelo found the back of the net on that match. Manchester City faced Liverpool before the international break. The derby ended with an 1:1 draw, though the Citizens deserved the victory. Jesus, who scored the equalizer, had few clear opportunities, but Kevin De Bruyne wasted a golden chance before half-time when he missed a penalty. Guardiola was missing the best scorer Sergio Aguero due to a hamstring injury. The Argentine striker has recovered and could feature here. He likes to play against the Spurs, scoring 11 Premier League goals against them. Raheem Sterling picked up a calf injury while on international duty. That's not all as Nathan Ake suffered a hamstring injury with Netherlands. Oleksandr Zinchenko had a positive coronavirus test and must be in self-isolation. Fernandinho and Benjamin Mendy are in process of recovery, however, this match is comming too soon for both.
Tottenham vs Manchester City Preview:
I expect at least three goals here. Both teams are in good form and the players confidence is high in both squads. Harry Kane scored three goals on the last three matches in the Premier League. Son Heung-min, meanwhile, is level with Calvert-Lewin, Salah and Vardy as the top flight's leading scorer with 8 goals. So, Tottenham have enough offensive power to attack. Manchester City will accept the challenge, they are not team that will defend. Guardiola also has players able to score, so this should be an efficient match.
