Do you think Tokyo Olympics 2021 is gonna happen?

As you all know, Tokyo 2020 had to be postponed due top COVID. With the new year going so far, do you think there's a chance for it to happen this year at all? Japan recently got hit with another wave since Jan, they had almost 8,000 new cases in one day. I don't think it's looking very bright for the Olympics but I still have faith that it's going to happen.

Also, are you all gonna be betting if Tokyo 2021 happens? I'm very curious which sport you will bet on and why. I'm personally eyeing wrestling and table tennis, but I have never bet on an Olympics sport before. Does anybody know which site has the best odds for Olympics sports?

I think mandatory vaccines for the athletes and their staff. I think its most likely they will hold the Olympics this year. I do not bet on Olympics because those sports are exotic and most of them are not even in the list of the bookies yearly so I don't know a lot and I will definitely not make an informed decision. I may bet only on tennis because underdogs are good at the Olympics, like Massu winning in 2004.

You have a point. Events happening once every 4 years may be too unpredictable to make a good bet on. I might just bet a little for fun though

I think it's too early to make odds for that now lol. Who knows if a meteor is crashing in May.

Its not 2020 anymore, but maybe that bad luck will continue in 2021

the oddsmakers are saying the odds of Olympic Tokyo being canceled is -260 lol. It's real, I googled it haha.

Yeah it does seem that way. By the way, I just did some research and turns out you can bet on which country wins the most gold medals and which wins the least haha. Didn't know this, it's quite fascinating.

Yeah, there are odds for this on every Olympics and it's usually quite clear which countries will get the first positions in the medal count.

It is very sad that because of this world situation the Olympic Games in Tokyo are so reduced in terms of disciplines and number of athletes. I really enjoy betting on lesser-known sports and I think the Olympics are excellent for that.

If it's logistically feasible to postpone them, or push back everyone's Olympics so Tokyo can still host, or something like that, it seems very much preferable over scrambling for an audience-free Olympics and a rush to vaccinate not only all athletes but all support staff, etc
