Hi everyone,

I did the free bet offer with Betfair and as my first bet of £25 lost they refunded it. I straight away withdrew this £25 but then they accidently credited my account with another £25 which I also immediately withdrew. So instead of giving me my money back I'm now actually £25 up. However they have sent me an email today saying that my account is in minus figures (-£25) and so I'd obviously need to fund my account with e.g. £30 to have £5 to spend. They also called me which I missed.

However the thing is I'm not that bothered about betting with them again, so if I just ignore them can they do anything to get the money back? By the way I credited my account using a debit card and so the extra £25 is now in my bank account. I presume they're not able to withdraw this money from my account themselves?

Cheers

They can't do nothing. they wont even bother for 25 pounds, but you will lose the chance to bet at the best betting exchange with best odds so if you want to make money in the future you should give them their money.
Betfair is the best betting site, its your decision, you wont finds odds like there at the normal bookies.

what a result. i personally only use betfair for laying. The odds for backing are not much different after you've taken there commission out. Apart from horse racing if you are backing an outsider and then you wont get such generous odds 1/4 or 1/5 of that when backing the place. id keep the money and stick with the conventional bookies. Or try a different exchange although none are as big as betfair.

Lucky guy, that doesn't happen a lot. ;) No stress, they can't do anything to your bank account, as long as you don't authorise it.

:D I wouldn't imagine so, cause they would just run out of business. But i actually heard about something like this happening on a different ocassion (can't remember which bookie it was though), so who knows, maybe we'll get lucky someday

I think it is usual for a betting site like Betfair and a credit is always a credit you must give it back or else that will be your last bet for them and they will not allow you to bet next time and lose the opportunity to play with one of the best.

Lucky you buddy, enjoy it. Since it doesn't come very often. :)

I do not think you should flame around that you exploit a glitch in some operator bonus system.
