started the thread thinking xG was something i understood because i saw it on broadcasts...

ending it understanding it's a sophisticated arms race between analysts, operators, and coaches where each layer of adoption creates new adaptation requirements...

and that my use of it as post-hoc justification was not only useless but was probably the exact distortion more sophisticated bettors were exploiting...

that's a very specific kind of humbling...
