I've been thinking about the five dollar forgotten bet while reading this thread.

The one I forgot about. Won and didn't know until I checked later.

I think what bothers me about it is that the bet had zero effect on my experience of that afternoon.

Which means the bet wasn't adding anything real.

It was just there.

A habit filling space.

just betting because not betting felt wrong...
