Do more than you can do right now to be able to do less later - I mean don't be lazy, but just avoid the superfluous, the alien, the unnecessary, the imposed from the outside. Then, when you feel that precious time is lost, you have to either reconcile or start doing more, more, more… And the energy is not as much as it once was. And the younger competitors are on the heels. And the idea of you, of your professional "bar" - has already been formed. It becomes harder to convince others that you can do more when many people have already "put you on the shelf" in their minds, and the height of this shelf is quite definite. Human thinking is prone to inertia and simplification, these are natural defense mechanisms. That's why we want it or not, and most people we "mark" quickly and once.
