Form​

Denmark has impressed in recent months and has not stopped with a semi-final at the Euro and an imperious qualification (27 points out of 30) for the 2022 World Cup. In this Nations League, the Scandinavians have made a thunderous start with wins over holders France (2-1), whom they will meet again in Qatar, and Austria (2-1).



On the other side, Austria, just promoted, are out to prove that they deserve to stay in the A-League. They were eliminated by Wales (2-1) in the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup play-offs, but bounced back with a resounding 3-0 win in Croatia at the start of the Nations League campaign.



Denmark had already to do without injured stalwart Kjaer (119 caps) and midfielder Lindström, but three more players were withdrawn: Dolberg (35 caps, 10 goals), midfielder Norgaard (Brentford, 17 caps) and the decisive Poulsen (Leipzig, 11 goals in 68 caps) more recently. The novice Hjulmand (Lecce) has joined the group to compensate. Several other players are based in Italy, such as the indomitable fullback Maehle (Atalanta, 28 caps, 9 goals), who was named man of the match against Croatia,



Ralf Rangnick's Austria have retained an experienced core of players for the tournament. Champions League winning legend Alaba (Real Madrid), key midfielders Schlager and Laimer (Bologna) and attacking players Arnautovic (Bologna) and Sabitzer (Bayern) form the backbone of the Austrian team.
