I always make sure to:

  • Take breaks to avoid impulsive decisions.

Spot on, that’s pretty much the blueprint. Only thing I’d add is to decide in advance what a “bad day” looks like and stop when you hit it, even if you feel fine. I’ve got a fixed daily loss limit and a max stake per bet, and I don’t change either mid-session. If I’m tempted to bend those rules, that’s my signal I’m not in control anymore and it’s time to log out.
