Fulham and Liverpool will renew the hostilities for the fourth time this season. The two sides also played in the EFL Cup semi-final. Liverpool were more successful so far, winning 4:3 in the Premier League and securing an aggregate 3:2 win in the cup in January. However, this is a very important match, but only for the guests. Fulham sit on the 12th position and have 42 points. The Cottagers are out of the relegation battle, but at the same time far away from the European spots. Of course, they will have plenty of motives in the finish, they are just two points behind Brighton & Hove Albion in the top half of the table. The current form is mixed, they have two defeats and one win on the last three matches. Fulham suffered defeats to Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United, but managed to win 2:0 against West Ham last weekend, thanks to an Andreas Pereira's brace. Manager Silva has no injury or suspension worries, which is a small miracle to have all players available in this stage of the season.
Liverpool are in big crisis, the biggest one this season. It seems April is not the best month for the Reds. First they played a 2:2 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford. Klopp's players have dominated in the first half, created lot of opportunities, but scored just once through Luis Diaz. Football is strange game and the things could turn out quickly. Even the United fans were surprised when their team scored two goals in the second half, though weren't happy with the final result. Mohamed Salah converted a penalty for a 2:2 draw. Liverpool have lost the first place in the Premier League, but then things went from bad to worse. They suffered a high 3:0 defeat to Italian side Atalanta in the first-leg quarterfinal of UEFA Europe League and then lost 1:0 to Crystal Palace. Back-to-back defeats at Anfield isn't something the fans could swallow. The atmosphere in the team is poor, while the players confidence is low. Thursday's 1:0 success over Atalanta in Bergamo in the second leg of their Europa League tie proved meaningless, as the Italian side comfortably advanced to the semifinals. Klopp has one new injury worry as Conor Bradley picked up an ankle injury against Palace last weekend.
Fulham vs Liverpool Prediction:
Last weekend Fulham beat West Ham 2:0, but that's not the whole story. The Cottagers were brilliant on that match and fully outplayed the Hammers. Marco Silva will try to replicate the last week's performances and this is a good formula, especially when taking into consideration the volume of chances his side created. Liverpool are in deep crisis and the players confidence is low. The Reds haven't scored from open play more than 300 minutes. I think Fulham won't lose here.
