Juventus and city rivals Torino play out the 156th "Derby della Mole" in Serie A on Tuesday night. The game is also known as the "Derby di Torino" or the "Turin Derby" in English. It is named after the Mole Antonelliana, a major landmark in the city and the architectural symbol of the Piedmontese capital. It is the first derby of Italian football and the oldest ongoing meeting between two teams based in the same city in Italy. Juventus, founded in 1897 by students of a prestigious high school in Turin, soon became akin to the bourgeois in the town especially after enduring bond with the Agnelli family, which began in 1923, during which time they were also supported by the aristocracy of the region. Torino instead was born in 1906 from a division within Juventus, at the hands of dissidents who joined forces with another team from the city (FC Torinese), who identified with the then-early industrial world.

Juventus are in very complicated situation. The record 36-time Italian champions were accused of fixing their balance sheets by inflating transfer fees. As a result, the Old Lady have dropped down on the table after being docked 15 points. Nevertheless, the actual form is good, they have three wins on the last three matches in Serie A. It is important to be mentioned they kept clean sheet on all three occasions. The Bianconeri won 3:0 against Salernitana, 1:0 against Fiorentina and 2:0 against Spezia. In addition, Juve reached the last 16 in UEFA Europa League after beat 3:0 Nantes in France. The atmosphere in the squad is better now, while the players confidence is higher. Coach Alegri will try to use the momentum, but has some issues as Manuel Locatelli is out suspended, while Paul Pogba, Fabio Miretti and Arkadiusz Milik are still unavailable due to injuries. Bremer is back from a domestic ban in time to face his former club

Torino are one place and one point behind Juventus. The actual form is mixed, one win, one draw and one defeat on the last three matches. The narrow 1:0 loss to AC Milan could somehow be swallowed as it came against the reigning champions at San Siro, but a 2:2 draw with rock-bottom Cremonese in the last tround is simply unacceptable. The Granata fell behind after taking the lead in the finish of the first half through Antonio Sanabria and were able only to escape the defeat thanks to Wilfried Singo's 79th-minute strike. Coach Ivan Juric has most of the players available, but Ola Aina is suspended, while few more are struggling with injuries. Nikola Vlasic has joined Valentino Lazaro, David Zima and Pietro Pellegri on the treatment table. Sanabria will try to match his personal best tally (six goals in the seasons 2021-22 and 2019-20). Samuele Ricci is close to recovering fully from injury and could be in contention for this match, while Ronaldo Vieira is rated as doubtful.

Juventus vs Torino Prediction:

As I wrote above, this will be the 156th "Derby della Mole" in Serie A. Overall, Juve have won the derby 75 times and Torino have won it 35 times. There have been 45 draws, with 239 goals in favour of Juventus and 156 goals scored for Torino. The Old Lady are favorites again, but I will suggest a low-scoring match. The last two league matches for Juventus have finished with Under 2.5 goals. The players will probably be rotated as Juve also play in UEFA Europa League. Torino, meanwhile, will put the focus on defense. So far their away games with the favorites were not too efficient. For example, Torino lost 1:0 to Milan two weeks ago, played an 1:1 draw with Roma at Olimpico in November, lost 1:0 to Inter at Meazza etc. Even October's reverse fixture have produced just one goal as Juve won 1:0 thanks to Dusan Vlahovic's second-half strike. I expect Under 2.5 goals in Turin.

Juventus vs Torino Pick: Under 2.5 goals @ 1.68 with Pinnacle
