Real Madrid vs. Valencia Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Real Madrid:
Courtois; Nacho, Militao, Rudiger, Alaba; Kroos, Camavinga, Modric; Valverde, Benzema, Vinicius Jr

Valencia:
Mamardashvili; Foulquier, Comert, Diakhaby, Gaya; Musah, Guillamon, Moriba; Kluivert, Cavani, Lino

The reigning champions Real Madrid welcome Valencia to the Santiago Bernabeu on Thursday night. Los Blancos are in poor form, dropping five points on the last three top-flight matches. According to me, Real won the toughest fixture, against Athletic in Bilbao. On Sunday they played a goalless draw with Real Sociedad. As a result, Barcelona increased the advantage and that's why this match is extremely important. Another failure could mean "adios" to the title. Valencia seems to be an ideal opponents - Real have won 11 and drawn five of their last 16 meetings with Los Che at the Bernabeu. To be better, the guests are without permanent coach at the moment. But Ancelotti has some injury issues ahead of this match. Left-back Ferland Mendy is set for around six weeks on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury, while Lucas Vazquez remains out with an ankle problem. On the positive note, David Alaba, Aurelien Tchouameni and Dani Carvajal have recovered and should all be available for this clash. Veteran midfielder Luka Modric will likely return to the starting eleven after beginning on the bench last time out. Karim Benzema will probably lead the line.

Valencia are on the 14th place and they are close to the relegation zone. Just one point separate Los Che from the 18th-placed Cadiz. The actual form is poor, three defeats and just one draw on the last four league matches. Last weekend they suffered an 1:0 defeat to Real Valladolid – a game which saw Cyle Larin net a 90th-minute winner. The fans are disappointed and club officials were forced to react - head coach Gennaro Gattuso was sacked on Monday. The Italian tactician has departed after just 22 matches in charge, less than half as many as his predecessor Jose Bordalas. However, winning only two games out of eight in all competitions since the World Cup break is a poor record. Voro Gonzalez is appointed as interim boss for the seventh time in his career. He has three injury worries ahead of this match - Jaume Domenech and Nico Gonzalez are both ruled out, while Thierry Correia has missed the last four matches with a muscle problem and remains doubtful. Voro will probably make some changes, with the likes of Mouctar Diakhaby, Hugo Guillamon, Justin Kluivert and Ilaix Moriba all pushing for a starting spot. Veteran striker Edinson Cavani has failed to score in his last three appearances, but the Uruguay international is expected to continue to lead the line.

Real Madrid vs. Valencia Prediction:

Real Madrid are in must win position. And I believe they will win. The quality is on their side, as well as the home advantage. Furthermore, their opponents are in difficult situation, out of form and without manager. What is worse, the players confidence is low after three defeats on the last four league matches. Real should win in handicap.

Real Madrid vs. Valencia Pick:
Real Madrid -1.5 AH @ 2.12 with Pinnacle
