Monthly shout outs - how it works and what to expect​

This is a small experiment to make the forum a bit more fun and to say thank you to people who actually help the community.

From next month we will start doing Monthly shout outs - one thread every month where we highlight members and posts that stood out. This first thread is only to explain how it will work.

What are Monthly shout outs​

Once per month there will be a pinned thread where we:

• mention members who gave helpful answers
• link to good journals and discussions
• welcome new members who started strong
• encourage the right type of content on the forum

It is not a competition for "best bettor". It is simply a way to show respect for effort, honesty and good reasoning.

What categories we will use​

The exact format can change over time, but at the start you can expect things like:

• Most helpful answers - people who explained things clearly or were patient with beginners
• Most active journals - members who updated their threads regularly and honestly
• Smart discussions - threads where there was good reasoning, back and forth and real learning
• New members to watch - newer users who made a strong start with quality posts

Sometimes we may add small fun things like "funniest comment of the month" or "nicest comeback after a bad run".

How to get mentioned in the shout outs​

There is no secret trick. Things that help:

• explain your reasoning when you post a pick, do not just drop scores and odds
• update your betting journal regularly, including bad days
• ask honest, specific questions instead of "tips please"
• help others when they are confused, especially in beginner threads
• stay respectful when you disagree and focus on ideas, not on the person

You do not have to be a winning bettor to be mentioned. Effort, honesty and good attitude matter a lot.

What about rewards or badges​

At the start this will mostly be public recognition inside the monthly thread. If it works well and people like it, we might later add:

• small custom titles for some shout out mentions
• profile badges for repeated mentions over several months
• other small cosmetic rewards

Nothing is promised yet. First we see if the idea is useful and fun.

When does it start​

This first post is only the introduction. The first real Monthly shout outs will be posted next month, once we have a full month of activity to look at.

From that point on there will be:

• one new shout out thread each month
• summary of what happened on the forum
• mentions of people and threads worth checking
